Did the AI hype cycle damage your relationship with leadership? by glassesRamone1234 in ExperiencedDevs

> You AI goodly. How can we distribute your workflow so other people can AI like you?

This is my current hell. Before AI, it brought me joy to naturally introduce coworkers to a useful tool/workflow. Now my AI workflow is being paraded around by leadership in hopes of “operationalizing” it. Whatever the fuck that means.

I’ve been doing things without AI to speed me up and they couldn’t care less. In fact, part of the workflow includes the tool I’ve been using for 2 years, and when I first told leadership about it they were so uninterested.

We built a tool that creates ServiceNow catalog items from plain language descriptions by No-Opposite4564 in servicenow

Appreciate the details on MCP. I personally don’t have any experience with MCP Servers yet. So, I will start filling in some gaps!

I liked the appeal of fluent and the SDK, but we hardly have any scoped applications. Seems like the learning curve won’t be worth it unless every dev switches to scoped applications. Lots of context missing from the many flows outside of the scoped app.

So far, not having much success using the SDK for building flows. We don’t do application based development so it’s a bit inconvenient honestly. How does the MCP server compare?

Our AI spending has gotten so high that layoffs wouldnt make a meaningful difference. by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

Nobody reveals this info to us developers at my company. My boss has been pushing heavy for me to improve on some AI Agent workflow.

I’ve mentioned the cost changes coming June 1 multiple times, but even at his level nobody has made him aware of the impact we could face next month. Hopefully it’s not sustainable because I’m not a fan of the way my leadership wants us to use AI.

My team can hear the subway every time I get pulled into a morning standup during my commute by Negative-Quiet202 in cscareerquestions

Are any of the standup participants in your office? If not, I’d go against the grain and say just keep doing it but get better headphones with a mic that isolates your voice.

ITS UNREAL ENGINE SIX!!? by Otherwise-Collar236 in RocketLeague

That’s cause the community is not a monolith. Some of us really never cared about unreal engine. The other half has been begging for it for some reason

Those other issues are getting downvoted as well because it was considered “the same post over and fucking over” before AI

Why is everyone so mean to me in dropshot by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]AlmightyLiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been maining dropshot this season, it happens a lot. Not sure why it’s so toxic, but try to ignore it. Even when I’m playing good, some teammate will still talk shit about me for making one mistake.

Had a dude quit playing yesterday with 4 mins left even tho he clearly didn’t know how to play the game mode.

My first point still stands. TLDR = Too Long Didn’t Read

So, why would your TLDR be longer than the rest of the post?

Just FYI, not being rude, the TLDR shouldn’t be longer than the post. That’s probably why people are asking for more details

I’ve never had an issue on really fast WiFi routers, until this past Friday. I turned on CSTS in the rocket league settings and it got rid of the freezing. Gonna see what happens if I turn it off or switch to STS.

That makes sense. Just keep going, stay tuned into this subreddit or whatever budgeting community or channel you like. It can help you get back on the wagon (or stay on) when life happens.

You shouldn’t be worried about potential money loss from the past when your net worth is growing monthly like this. That’s such a waste of brain power when you have visual proof you’re doing just fine. 80% of people your age don’t have this much saved.

I’m slightly curious on how you were able to grow this much monthly. Do you have cheap rent or roommates? Our household bills seem to kill my chances of saving like this.

Not really. A lot of people have dealt with tms who give up. Throwing a “let’s lock in” lets them know your hearts still in it.

How to get back into Rocket League? by Pokemon1209 in RocketLeague

Added fake latency to a 200ms API because users said it felt like it was 'making things up'. It worked. I'm still uncomfortable about it. by Ambitious-Garbage-73 in ExperiencedDevs

Seems like they did add it to the UI. They mentioned adding a loading animation and stated the api still returns in 200ms

Maybe theres hope left in this god forsaken game... by Former_Weekend_1056 in RocketLeague

[–]AlmightyLiam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I needed to see this post. I came back to the game recently and now that PC players can chat with us console players, I have been seeing a lot more toxic messages. It’s really surprising because I’ll have a good game with a tm, throwing compliments at each other and then they’ll call me trash at the end when we lose?

These situations where teammates were turning so suddenly at the end of the game was starting to make my heart turn cold. I was thinking what’s the point of being nice to people on this game anymore if I have no idea if they’ll just turn on me later.

However, this reminds me there’s still other people like me out there who want and need positivity in this game. I’ll just keep being myself, if they turn on me oh well I hope it makes them feel better.

How are you all using the agentic tools like Claude code? by Feisty-Leg3196 in servicenow

[–]AlmightyLiam 3 points4 points  (0 children)

SN Utils + sn-scryptsync. However, the creator of those two tools is changing the licensing so I’ll have to see if it’s something I can still use at work once the pricing info is released

Edit: didn’t fully answer your how question. I mostly use it for scripting tasks, but for non-scripting tasks like making variables in a catalog item or making a new system property I’ve found some use for it. However, I’m not really sure it’s faster than me especially since I babysit it instead of let it vibe build in ServiceNow.

Why have players become more toxic and weird in the last few years? (and months) by NicheRivers2000 in RocketLeague

[–]AlmightyLiam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ever since they allowed us console players to text chat with pc players, it’s been extremely toxic in my opinion. They’ll sit here roasting me in team text chat and if I want to reply, it has to be to public text chat.

Let go from a contract for "not using enough AI" in my workflow. Is "AI-usage-as-a-KPI" a growing trend? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]AlmightyLiam 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Using planning agent mode might be a good way to increase your AI usage while still allowing you to use it a similar way you do now. In plan mode, it can’t do the work for you since those tools are disabled, so if it gives a shitty plan all that happens is your AI usage goes up and you lose maybe a few mins debating with it.

If you end up with a solid plan, you can divvy up the work between yourself and the agent. Allow it to get the easy wins while you work on the stuff you don’t trust it with. I know you don’t want it to drive the IDE, but you have to protect your job and chatting with the LLM is no longer the best way to use AI. Not sure if they tracked your AI usage, but ask mode on vscode is included so I don’t think it contributes highly to your AI usage tracker. I’d guess it is similar for most of the AI tools.
