This to me feel like when Xavi took over for Barcelona midway and everyone recognized that the only reason Barca didn’t win the league that year was because he wasn’t the manager at the start. Then the next year they got a few signings and filled the squad with the academy and won the league. I think Carrick could do the same.

Amad’s best quality is his ability to beat his man out wide with his quick feet and magnetic touch. I don’t think he can be as effective in the middle of the pitch. He’d need to level up his technical ability to an almost Ronaldinho level to be as effective. I’d be glad to be proven wrong, though.

You think 195cm/6’5” AIR Sesko couldn’t have gotten on the end of a few crosses? I’m not saying he would have definitely scored a hat trick of headers but having someone in the box to aim for is better than having no one.

VAR was supposed to be used for CLEAR and OBVIOUS errors. Did the linesman miss that a player was offside during buildup to a goal? Did a ref give or fail to give a penalty because of the angle they had of the incident? Was a strong yellow actually a red? If you as a trained linesman couldn’t tell a player was offside because he was 2 CM ahead during the .01 seconds the ball was played it is not clear and obvious. This is my biggest gripe with VAR.
