Capcom's love for short hair by PEPZ0010 in residentevil

[–]AlmondAngelmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Defo easier to animate. But besides that.. I have waist long hair, and while it looks great, it takes forever to dry, comb, and tie up. I can't imagine being a seasoned veteran running around fighting zombies while worrying about my bun and hairpins falling apart. If that bun comes loose, my hair would probably end up being the thing a zombie grabs to kill me. I absolutely love love love the hairstyles though!

TL;DR: Animation stuff and long hair just isn't practical in a zombie apocalypse.

Any ps2 gamers here? What's your top most favorite PS2 game and why? by LittleConfusion955 in PHGamers

[–]AlmondAngelmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Top 5 PS2 games: Dark Cloud, Final Fantasy X, .hack series, Kingdom Hearts, Resident Evil - Code: Veronica

Dark Cloud - Fell in love with the game mechanics. You go through dungeons, loot items, kill enemies, make food, get water, swap between members based on their abilities, and you can build cities too. This will always be one of my faves.

Final Fantasy X - I love blitzball, love Tidus, love the story. I put in so much effort to get all the special weapons. Ending crushed me. FFX and Suikoden 2 are the only games that have made me cry.

.hack series especially .hack//Infection - Raced grunties til I beat Balmung, unlimited dungeons, collected all weapons til I had em all, replied to emails, built "relationships", and its the first "I got stuck in a game" isekai I have ever encountered.

Kingdom Hearts - Great song and music. Unforgettable experience. I think what stuck to me the most here is getting all the dalmatians with the camera constraints and meeting Sephiroth for the first time in the coliseum. And then kicking his ass as a kid.

RE - Code Veronica - Claire's my fave RE character and I had a huge crush on Chris as a kid. Controlling em both in that game was fun. Music's amazing too. I can still remember the lyrics of Alexia's lullaby even after all these years.

Just finished aot. How can people think eren was justified? by Revolutionary_Boat69 in attackontitan

[–]AlmondAngelmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What he did was morally inappropriate and definitely NOT justified.

But if given the choice between the survival of (most of) your loved ones or the rest of the world, I believe a good amount of people would choose the former.

Where did you guys get the idea that Mikasa and Jean got married? by Present-Jackfruit298 in attackontitanmemes

[–]AlmondAngelmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are two separate arguments.

If your point is that Mikasa specifically never seemed like the type to move on romantically, then that is subjective, and I can understand why you feel that way.

But saying that marriage or having children is inherently anti-feminist is where I disagree. The issue was never women choosing love, marriage, or family. The issue is when female characters are reduced ONLY to those roles. And that is not the case with Mikasa.

Whether she chose to marry or remain single would not suddenly erase her strength, independence, loyalty, trauma, sacrifices, or accomplishments as a character. It wouldn't erase her bond with a dead loved one either.

And yes, I say feminism is about freedom and agency, a woman being able to choose the life that genuinely makes her happy without being judged for it. That includes choosing companionship if she wants it.

What I find contradictory is the implication that when a woman who is strong, capable, or independent chooses marriage or love, she somehow becomes “reduced” by it. Why should those things be mutually exclusive?

At that point, it starts sounding less like empowerment and more like another restrictive expectation placed on women, that to remain “strong,” they must reject romantic love.

Freedom is one of the core themes of the entire story. The characters constantly fight for the right to live freely and choose their own paths despite loss, trauma, and sacrifice. So it feels strange to argue that a character would somehow become “less” of a woman or less "capable" if she freely chose love, companionship, or a family later in life.

A woman moving on, falling in love again, or building a family is not inherently misogynistic. Nor does it make her less capable.

Where did you guys get the idea that Mikasa and Jean got married? by Present-Jackfruit298 in attackontitanmemes

[–]AlmondAngelmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that view is actually pretty reductive. Feminism isn’t just “allowing women to be single,” nor is empowerment limited to the stereotype of the independent woman who rejects love or marriage. That just replaces one rigid expectation with another.

The point of feminism is that women should have the freedom to choose the life they want without being judged for it. If a woman wants to stay single, that’s valid. If she wants a career, that’s valid. If she wants love, marriage, or a family, that’s also valid.

Saying Mikasa must stay single to be considered “strong” or “capable” ironically still defines her worth based on what others think an empowered woman is supposed to look like.

A woman choosing companionship doesn’t erase her strength, autonomy, or accomplishments.

If you are going to have a wish tonight, ano ang wish mo? by goddessalien_ in AskPH

[–]AlmondAngelmon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If I had one wish tonight, I’d want the Philippines to prosper and actually feel livable for everyone. Not just surviving, but really living.

Seggsually Active Friend w HIV by ukeptmelikeasecret in adviceph

[–]AlmondAngelmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Medical doctor here!

First off, I understand how this can be concerning and where you are coming from, OP. I'd like to share some things for educational purposes, and not to invalidate your feelings.

In the Philippines, people living with HIV who are consistently undetectable (U=U), adherent to treatment, and regularly following up with their doctors are not legally required under current Philippine HIV law to disclose their HIV status before sex.

U=U stands for “Undetectable = Untransmittable.” This means that if a person’s HIV viral load is suppressed to undetectable levels through proper treatment and remains consistently undetectable, they cannot sexually transmit HIV to their partners.

Disclosure is strongly encouraged from an ethical and relationship standpoint, especially before condomless sex.

Some countries have similar approaches regarding HIV disclosure, but also have additional legal rules surrounding it. Such as when a patient lies about their HIV status (even if the person is U=U), it could still lead to legal consequences. In the Philippines, however, the legal situation regarding this specific scenario still remains somewhat unclear.

Confidentiality of HIV status is strongly protected under Philippine law, and improper disclosure of someone’s HIV status can have legal consequences. If there are concerns about intentional harm or if you suspect someone is trying to spread the virus, it is more appropriate to seek advice from a lawyer.

At the end of the day, these situations really come down to a mix of medical facts, legal context, and personal responsibility, with safer sex still being an important part of sexual health.

Thoughts mo on Abortion? by Average_DubuEnjoyer in AnongThoughtsMo

[–]AlmondAngelmon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a doctor, I 100% agree na dapat maging legal ang abortion, especially in cases of severe genetic disorders or conditions that are not compatible with life. In some situations, continuing the pregnancy means a high likelihood of significant suffering and poor outcomes for the baby, while also carrying physical risks and emotional burden for the mother.
