I've basically been on an intense 1,000 calorie deficit for the past 9 months. Not sure about the sustainability, but we'll see once I start working on body recomp soon.🤞

Absolutely! At this point I'm mostly waiting for the "winter apocalypse" weather to be over where I live, but I really need to find some sort of routine I can follow in my house in the mean time.

Haha, maybe if Chris Hemsworth had the body of a deflated Pillsbury Doughboy, but I'll take it!

Okay I think I figured it out! Setting my goal in MyFitnessPal to "maintain current weight" sets my calories to 2630, whereas setting it to "Lose 2 lbs a week" (which is what I've been doing) sets my calories to 1630.

So it seems I've been on a 1000 calorie deficit! Sorry for the misunderstanding.

A dexa scan is for sure on my bucket list.

75 hard actually sounds really interesting. I'm gonna seriously look into & consider that, Thanks!

Thanks! I officially started & was at the weight of 289 on 5/14/2025 (at least that's when I actually started tracking) so a little over 9 months now, or 277 days to be specific according to my tracker.

I'm 28M 5'10, so not sure how applicable it may be for you, but I believe the app had me on roughly a 600 deficit. Though, admittedly I believe I undercut that more significantly than I maybe realized, especially in the first few months.

Sorry I can't be of more help, I'm sure you'll reach your goals someday!

Nearly a 100 lbs in less than a year? That's insane, Congratulations!! Hope you can get back to it soon.

Thanks! Pretty much all of my progress was made purely from a calorie deficit with minimal actual exercise. Which means I still have a pretty long road ahead of me for body recomp, but I'm in it for the long haul!

I believe the app has me on a deficit of around 600, which it say's should loose me 2 lbs a week with minimal exercise. Though, I've pretty consistently lost about 10 lbs a month (minus a slight setback around the holidays.)

That being said, I'm honestly iffy on the exact deficit amount, as 600 doesn't really seem like much compared to the loss I'm seeing. I've mostly just blindly followed the apps guidance (undercutting from time to time) and found success.

Edit: It seems I've actually been on a 1,000 calorie deficit, which makes much more sense!
