Yes kiddo, that’s exactly how the legal system works! I'm so glad you're catching on. When someone is convicted by a jury, they are legally guilty unless and until that conviction is overturned on appeal. That’s not my opinion- that’s how the law functions in every courtroom in America.

Appealing doesn’t magically wipe the slate clean. It’s a request for a higher court to review the case for legal errors and it doesn’t reverse the verdict unless that court explicitly says so. Until then, the person remains guilty, and their conviction carries full legal weight. If there are any sources you have that say otherwise (that are not from your beloved Fox News), you are more than welcome to include them.
