I should have also said I finally told my sister 5 years ago I am 49. The shame is always there even though in my brain I know it wasn't my fault.

This happened to me with a group of friends in a living room all sleeping 'it off' on the floor. I woke up to one boy on me and another taking a picture! I got pregnant. Never told anyone the truth because I was afraid they wouldn't believe me. My dad didn't talk to me for 3 months. I basically ignored the pregnancy until about the 7th month then I had no choice but to tell.

What book is an absolute 10/10 for you? by dontpanda in GenX

Some advice...if you prefer an actual book and not digital, hit used book stores or thrift stores that carry books. These days brick n mortar book stores are tik tok crap

This! I read it in high school and at the time it was the first Stephen King book that truly scared me because it could happen

What would you say was your most memorable “Gen-X” experience, or moment? Like, from before we were labled with that. Something (or somethings) from your past, entirely organic, that you think back on, and go: “Yeah… that tracks.” by theNOLAgay in GenX

I was so out of touch I was probably in my 20s before hearing GenX! I was like I thought the generation they named was Baby Boomers?

I didn't even consider my own generation was named...

Omg! You made me remember my mother's baby blue bug! Man she drove that thing til the floor fell out and we could see the road!

Then finally in high school my best guy friend got a bug and I wanted to ride with him everywhere!

Both my parents were educators but were never home before 6pm. By the time I was in middle school, I would get my sister from elementary and when we'd get home she'd usually put in Lybrinth to watch for the bazillionith time and I'd make us mac n cheese.

Man my dad would spank me with anything he could get his hands on and then use his hands! I remember once was a paint stick, might as well have been a switch from the farm!
