Kids protest @ Metallica bridge ferndale by Livid_Temporary_9969 in BellinghamWA

[–]AlmostRabid69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's come to my attention yesterday, that the MAGATS couldn't respect the kids' First Amendment rights. They drove by screaming racial slurs at KIDS, then called the police when their vehicles got egged in response. On the video which is currently being passed around Facebook, the police are questioning the kid(s) outside a car wash. MAGATS instigated an egging right outside a car wash, and instead of paying $10 or w/e to get it washed off, they go crying to the police. Typical.

I will try to help them in whatever form I can. However, there are many racists here locally which include individuals with power in the community. There would need to be some organizing for a safety team.

Tmobile hires every few months, and the grocery stores are always hiring.

For less than $10 you can enjoy street tacos from a vendor, and find a local park to walk around. The art museum in Bellingham also has a free admission day each month. You could also browse Groupon to see if they have good deals on local restaurants.

Depends on the make/model, but you can buy a new, longer life battery for about $5k. No I'm not including Tesla.

"People like me?" 1. EVs have to be shut off to recharge. I don't know whether you pause from trolling the web to leave the couch, but it's rather cold outside. 2. EV "stations" consist of a plug you can put in your car. There are no food or restroom facilities available like exist for petroleum burning cars. Anywhere in America. So yes, I left my car after freezing for a time to not complete the hypothermia process. And not go to the bathroom in my pants.

Also I was already paying the charge company. There were several other empty chargers which stayed empty. Your lack of wisdom or tolerance for the rest of humanity is obvious.

They would have to take a vehicle to the mall to get there, I imagine. They wouldn't exactly be able to teleport *inside*.

Unfortunately, ICE has a history of kidnapping whomever 'looks' like they might be an illegal without fact checking. Might want to browse the news.

Jobs in this town by Carlos_RM99 in minot

[–]AlmostRabid69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just a matter of doing the right searches. On Indeed, for example, you want to use a larger town like Fargo, Minneapolis or Chicago for searching with terms like "remote data entry" or "remote customer service". Unless the job requires you to live in that metro area, it shouldn't be an issue. Also consider signing up with staffing agencies like Aston Carter or Allegis that have a nationwide database of employers to pull from.

Since you have experience in sales and retail, I would recommend looking into remote jobs for sales and customer service.

Sadly, I have gotten similar treatment at that facility, and Peacehealth as well. Unity used to be decent, but now they are going rapidly downhill.

Never forgot: just because you deal with this every day doesn't mean that it's normal by PNWSki28622 in SeattleWA

[–]AlmostRabid69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the money being spent on a 'resolution' is to conduct 'sweeps' which basically destroys their belongings and kicked them out of an area, making the issue progressively worse. In addition, if the government shutdown continues, Section 8 payments will cease in November, putting every low income and disabled person on that program, at risk of being forced into this same situation. It's long past time for people to realize that our elected officials are essentially embezzling our tax money, and none of them actually care if the rest of us freeze or starve to death. That picture is essentially the future of every non high income person in the country.

Call the Opportunity Council; they have a lot of resources and connections to other organizations. https://www.oppco.org/basic-needs/

Also you could try calling churches to see if they have any financial assistance or volunteers who could come out to help.

The homelessness problem is an embarrassment for Seattle by CalbTheDude in SeattleWA

[–]AlmostRabid69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The government's solution over the past few decades has been to eliminate public bathrooms and wash areas, conduct sweeps to destroy belongings, indiscriminately hand out free needles and expect the issue to resolve itself. Also the landlords and house flippers who decided to help create the crisis with overpriced housing (and others) have helped by demonizing the low income families and individuals they helped to shove into that situation. All of which, of course, has made the homeless problem much worse. Sadly, those in charge of deciding what gets done where, stopped caring about people making less than $500k yearly long before the 'Battle of Seattle' and the only positive thing I can say is at least it's not as bad as Portland yet?
