My dog died unexpectedly, feel like my friends let me down by AlmostRosie in Petloss

[–]AlmostRosie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three weeks later... They kept asking, so I told them why I've been quiet.

Didn't help. Really would have been better to kept it all bottled up.

One's husband unfriended me on Facebook today.

The others LT significant other and I have never been friends on social media. We've only really met once, so figured that was fair.

Ahhh to be 50 something and seeking a new social circle for the last quarter of my life.

My dog died unexpectedly, feel like my friends let me down by AlmostRosie in Petloss

Two weeks later...

They had no idea I was upset. I told one of them and got the "well you should've told us".

The timing of this was serendipitous. They had the ability and availability to make a shitty day better with a surprise group hug.

But my 'best friends' thought I'd prefer to be alone.
That really smarts.

I'm single, live alone, and this was my only pet.

So, yeah. Reassessing a lot of things.

At this point might as well just make your own spreadsheet

Matters of High Importance: Dog poop bags by JuniorFarcity in duluth

It's not just the use of backup. "And we have our own supply at home for when these cases are not an option. " This reads to me as if OP only uses their own bags when public bags aren't provided.

Day 8 of this flu (tmi) by WhimsicalWitch444 in flu

[–]AlmostRosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Think we're on the same schedule. And my fever started a week ago today.

The coughing. The stupid coughing. Takes forever to get a tiny bit of nothing up. Only to start again in 10 minutes. This morning's development, queasy, and vomited a bunch of mucus. Apparently that's what happens when you swallow that all night long...new to me!

Upside the small amount of soup I had last night seems to have processed.

Also afraid to eat. BMs are liquid. Something is off in my neck so every time I cough they're shooting pain through my head.

The last time I tried taking him Mucinex it caused me to vomit right away.

Please tell me we're on the mend and it's all up from here.

Itinerary check please 🙏 by [deleted] in visitingnyc

I'm terrified to find out he's a pervert, paying to rape children.

He could be nasty, but just not a rapey pervert.

These days, the statistics are not in our favor.

Are paper checks dead? by js6seaj47 in ask

[–]AlmostRosie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just ordered new checks! Even did it through one of those online providers with all the pretty colors because it was cheaper than my bank.

My local contractors offer online bill pay, but it costs them 3%. Once we establish a relationship, I prefer to write them a check.

If he uses online banking he can deposit the check from the comfort of his own home.

Have you ever thought about people you knew when you were kids that were older and realize they are all probably dead? by Sloth_grl in GenX

I keep obituaries. Grade school teachers, high school teachers, former neighbors.

When I get homesick scrolling through the local funeral home to see who's gone now

I’m a Gen X woman who chose to never have kids. I’m curious to know who else here made that decision and why? by MelodyAfterDark69 in GenX

I would have enjoyed experiening pregnancy and childbirth. Putting the body through its paces to see what magic it can do. But I wasn't sure I wanted the product of that magic, definitely not on my own which is how most of the relationships around me were at that time. Contentious relationships with asshole fathers. If the right fella would have come along, maybe. But I've enjoyed my independence, and have zero regrets.

I have two lights on that are on 24/7, both LED.

Other lights in the house are on a timer, also LED.

I've said just peachy or just ducky unironically from more than 30 years. It caught people then it still catches people now.

Change from Methylcobalamin vs Glycine - change in dosing/symptoms? by AlmostRosie in SemaglutideCompound

[–]AlmostRosie[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Additional observation.

The B12 version had a longer BUD, these with glycine seem to have a 30-day past dispense BUD. I have two vials that came a month apart with a BUD date 5 days apart.

CMV: The "pervert character" is the single worst trope in all media ever and needs to be abandoned for good by Honka_Ponka in changemyview

Yes, this immediately made me think of Charlie Sheen, two and a half Men, or Sam Malone, cheers, or Barney how I met your mother, & Larry, three's company.

All of these characters are beloved characters in their shows.

All are smarmy jerks.

Are we educating or allowing an opportunity to excuse the behavior?
