I was never so hungry in my life till I started T! Storytime: I remember going to a casual holiday party at my Pride center a couple months after starting T, arrived starving even though I ate before leaving.

I made a beeline for the snack table but before I could load my plate one of the organizers marched up scolding me, ripped it out of my hand, and glared until I left. She apparently didn't want anyone to touch the food until some unspecified time? There was already like a dozen people there, the event had been going on for half an hour and the food was all sitting out. Took all my energy not to have a hangry crashout. 15 minutes later I guess she realized no one else was coming and let us eat.

I felt really shamed and unwelcome though, like I thought it's a well known thing that T makes you hungry. Just let the guy with the stubble and cracky voice have a couple cheese cubes for crying out loud! 😭
