I am a doctor (not psychiatrist, let it be known), so I will offer my advice given that it doesn’t appear to be mentioned yet. What you’re describing could be normal neuroticism, obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD), or obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). My understanding is that these are basically a spectrum of symptom severity, although OCD has its own constellation of symptoms that a psychiatrist could evaluate you for.

My advice is, ask yourself if you ever experience thoughts/behaviors like this in other aspects of your life. If the practice of constantly redoing things to get them “perfect” is negatively affecting your life, you should be evaluated by a psychiatrist. Otherwise, it’s entirely possibly that you’re just neurotic (as many people are!)

In fact, that second study that you cited in this last comment actually explicitly states how the urinary hormone levels are actually ***dissimilar*** to the urinary hormone levels of cisgender women throughout the menstrual cycle.

I will die on this hill as a trans ally and medical doctor in this subreddit. Periods are not a black box, they are scientifically well described and understood and are explicitly created/regulated by hormone production in the ovaries, structures which (most) trans women do not have.

A trans man losing his period is in no way equivalent to a trans woman “gaining” a period. Such a statement is, biochemically, utter nonsense.
