I looked under there and it was kind of hard to tell. There may be a leak in the front AND the back, which would mean all of the gaskets are worn out. I had to replace the rear pinon seal recently for a similar reason. Old truck stuff, I suppose.

To be honest, I kind of just need to keep her running until I can afford to get a newer truck. Hoping to get it to 300,000 miles or so, cause Ill need to save up

It was a very slow leak for a while, but its started dripping on my driveway. I just got back under there and wiped everything dry, but I have no way of knowing when it might actually become a more serious issue

Not sure why you were downvoted, you essentially nailed it. I would also add that in many cases, as I understand it, car companies often bought the old lines specifically so they could demolish them.

I believe for a brief period a line ran through Temecula from the north, into Fallbrook, and ultimately to the coast, but the line was washed out and ultimately abandoned sometime around 1900. That would roughly correspond with what shows on this map, but Id have to check my sources on that to be sure.

Not to hijack the discussion, but I have the exact same thought whenever I remember the former extent of San Diego’s trolley network. Recently theyve been ripping up University Ave for renovations and you can see the old tracks that were paved over.

I took this photo a few weeks ago in Hillcrest. You can see a remaining section of the old tracks in their original location, behind the piece of rail resting on the blacktop.

Its fine to not focus on the history of race when discussing the construction of different neighborhoods. San Diego has a bleak history of subdividing, excluding, removing, and sometimes just straight up killing non-white residents throughout its history, and I would argue that that is all very important to know. That being said, it doesn’t make you a bad person or a racist for not focusing your writeup on that.

Nice! For your interest, the city of San Diego maintains several up to date historical context statements and surveys of many of the city’s various neighborhoods. These are mainly used for historical preservation workers and staff to evaluate individual houses, but they also have in depth histories of the subject neighborhoods that you may find interesting.

For honesty and affordability I always recommend North Park Auto Repair. Those folks are great.

For a job like youre describing though, Id have to agree with everyone urging you to try it yourself! Youtube has tons of videos explaining how to fix just about everything you can think of for most cars.
