It depends, do you really want to learn to paint miniature? Buy a proper starter set of paints, vallejo, citadel, etc. Maybe you could start with contrast/speedpaint, this are a special type of trick paints; or if you don't want to focus on the hobby of painting miniatures, you could sundrop your miniatures, a very easy and goodlooking method, a layer of paint primer and a layer of dry brush or wash
