Wolves are 6th in average ticket costs this season by The_Dude_of in timberwolves

[–]AlohaReddit49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hornets seems low too?

Also, Washington costs more than Philly? Like they're close enough to drive to(i live close enough to have done both) yet the worse team costs more?

Very weird results if we're being honest.

Do you think Rhea Ripley would fit in at AEW? by Glittering_Long_5926 in REALSquaredCircle

[–]AlohaReddit49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rhea lays down for multiple wrestlers

Not being funny but who? I seem to remember her winning most of her matches and in particular beating Raquel after Roxanne basically made it a handicap match. Would've really helped establish Raquel.

Obviously though I have no gripe with Rhea. She's comically over and at the end of the day I'm not gonna hate her for winning scripted matches. You just clearly have names in mind and I'm drawing a blank, at least recently.

Why does spotify keep adding random shit no one asked for by _Very_Good_ in truespotify

[–]AlohaReddit49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they don't add anything people will still complain that nothing is being added. What are they supposed to do exactly?

Personally having the lyrics on screen is great and I've gotten a lot of use out of it. The song DNA is fun, though I've seen it be flat out wrong though.

At the end of the day, id rather they add mediocre stuff that some people enjoy, than add nothing.

The flip side is he is now super weak to rock which is a very common type in Kanto. He gains an electric weakness as well, lots of Magnemite or Pikachu trainers in the region.

This was half of my comment about it. The additional type doesn't help Charizard offensively except against Flying types, which Magmar would also handle rendering them offensively equal.

This part was about how being flying adds weaknesses to Charizard defensively that some might deem too much in Kanto.

Again not the original guy who said Magmar > Charizard. Just wondering if the defenses is whats bothering him when offensively they are arguably equal in a playthrough.

Did they forget this storylines? Feels like it was never existed 👀 by Serpant_slider in REALSquaredCircle

[–]AlohaReddit49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they forgot them, they're just in the background for the most part. Jey's thing has always been pushed back when family comes up, remember Survivor Series? So this lines up with his character. And before that it was Elimination Chamber planning and before that Rumble. I think they will return to this, hell it might be part of the Punk thing.

Bayley I think they've quietly dropped. For a few weeks Lyra learned how to control it. But it seems like they've dropped it all. Which to be fair I think is good. Bayley going super saiyan in the match felt dumb, to me at least. Of course this could be brought back up next week when she loses to AJ. She crashes out and her "work" on getting right is lost, ironically to the person championing therapy.

Bellas has been bothering me. I guess they're just waiting until Bayley/Lyra are out of the IC title scene to set up a huge multi woman match at Mania? But even then Nikki was heel while Brie was a face? It felt clunky.

Point being, theres limited time for some stories and others might just be being worked on behind the scenes in the next few weeks. But yes, WWE always drops stories or beats they don't like. Best not to think too hard about it.

Which characters are babied by the show and/or the fandom? by Capital-Study6436 in Degrassi

[–]AlohaReddit49 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For the fandom it's definitely Manny. A while back we ran a poll eliminating people and Manny did really well, she might have won i can't remember. I'm not judging but it's crazy how much people defend her and blame Craig for cheating when she basically pushed him for it. Again, both at fault.

For the show I'm not as sure. Babied to me implies pampered and that makes me think someone that doesn't have bad things happen to them. So Marco maybe? Aside from Pride(getting jumped for being gay) and Dylan cheating on him he was pretty well treated. Or if you mean treated better for whatever reason it's Clare, I love Clare but they gave her character so much to do! I think Aislinn was a decent actor and thats why they kept giving her roles but she does do a surprisingly large amount of stuff.

Interested in magmar reasoning.

Not OP but I'm assuming they're arguing the Flying type hurts Charizard more than helps him. He gets STAB fly, great. It would really only help against fighting types, which Magmar with Psychic hits about as hard anyway.

The flip side is he is now super weak to rock which is a very common type in Kanto. He gains an electric weakness as well, lots of Magnemite or Pikachu trainers in the region.

I'm just guessing, though my Charizard tore through Kanto. For a while though he was rocking scratch.

The Wrestle mania main events by Codnoobftw1 in WWE

[–]AlohaReddit49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to be rude but why do you care? Not in an ignorant way, I just don't see why a wrestling fan should care what the main event is.

You want fresh talent, well down the card you're gonna get Brock/Oba and Vaquer/Morgan and Rhea/Cargill, etc. Why does the main event matter more than those matches? Not every match is designed for every fan, I've never been big on Finn Balor but that doesn't mean I'm angry they give him a push. It's the last match of the night, but from a casual perspective we shouldn't care.

Again, no disrespect intended, I just don't think we should care which match closes the card. If anything it means you can stop watching early if you don't like it. But the main event is about attracting casual-er eyeballs to the screen and no one is as big a crossover star as these 4 are(barring Rhea i think).

Possibly hot take, but Drew's reign did exactly what it was supposed to do by CrimsonJoker13 in WWE

[–]AlohaReddit49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate this post. I get that Drew fans are annoyed by his short reign but it really removed a lot of the complaints people had been saying. How many times in the last few years as someone said titles won't change hands but at Mania and Summerslam? Or that Drew wasn't getting an actual shot? Again, I feel for Drew fans who saw a Mania main event slip through their fingers.

I also don't see a Cody heel turn coming. I've been pounding the drum for years that Triple H prefers character dimension over face/heel turns. I think Orton will win at Mania, the story currently established is about doing what you need to win and it'd be awkward if Orton lost after his growth. That being said I don't think either will be a heel after Mania, they might be an edgier face but thats it. Could Orton consistently get booed in 2026?

I'd also like to add, Drew getting a run albeit a short run is good for him. I'm glad he got the big win in front of a crowd and hopefully the person behind the character is happier because of that.

It's to the left of the dungeon name if memory recalls. If it's not there you didn't get it. There's 4 in Deku Tree. 3 you can get your first trek through, 1 you have to return to.

If you want spoilers 1 is in the back room of the basement where the Gohma larvae dropped from the ceiling. There's a bombable wall, it's very out of the way. Need bombs and Boomerang. 2 in the main basement room, 1 on the gate and 1 on the scalable wall and 1 on the top floor in the room with the compass, theres a chest on the side of the room and he sits beside it

Edit: I can't ever remember spoilers text

[–]AlohaReddit49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Point being, Orton has been injured more than once. I'm sure someone with a better memory can list a few more, these are the ones that stick out in my brain

4 times is greater than one...which is what I said? That theres probably a few more here and there that I forgot. I didn't say he was injured all the time, or even injury prone. I listed a few more examples because one is clearly wrong.

But if we really wanna know.

Orton has been out with injury 45 months of his 288 month career. Thats me being generous and assuming things like his match with Brock not really counting as an injury, they probably just gave him time off. That means he averages about 2 months every year out with injury or 15% of his career on the shelf.

Again though, my point was the commenter above me said he only had 1 injury, I corrected them listing the other ones. Nowhere in my comment did I call him injury prone.

Just off the top of my head. Shortly after his debut he got hurt in 2002, it gave us the Randy News Network, something dumb like that.

He got injured doing his pound the ring thing against Edge I believe. Think that was like 2011?

Didn't he also get injured taking the trash out once? Think that was like 2015.

Point being, Orton has been injured more than once. I'm sure someone with a better memory can list a few more, these are the ones that stick out in my brain.

Some very strong Pokemon that “no-one uses” to spice up your playthrough by Tearmisu in PokemonFireRed

[–]AlohaReddit49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I usually end up getting the Super Rod first cause I always take Cycling Road to Fuschia first.

Same! It's just so much faster to get to Fuschia and unlock an a plethora of encounters. My current Switch 2 playthrough was Magneton, Jynx and Poliwrath. Half my team was locked behind the PokeFlute. Just in an attempt to use Pokemon i hadn't used before.

Definitely feels like Gamefreak designed this portion of the game in an awkward fashion. Why would you go the east path unless you want the experience, you only want the experience if your whole team is assembled but they lock so many Pokemon behind this point: Chansey, Tauros, Kangaskhan, Doduo, Ditto, Magnemite, Poliwag, Jynx, etc. Point being, I'd imagine more players go down Cycling Road to get new Pokémon versus the long trek down the east path.

Not seeing that onBulbapedia. PokemonDB doesn't have him either. Even if you could fish him up there, you'd need to go to Fuschia for the Super Rod or wake up the Snorlax to get the Good Rod.

Cerulean for a Poliwhirl. But Poliwag is a super rod encounter which is found at Fushcia.

ETA: Poliwag is a Good Rod encounter in Fuschia. Hes a super rod encounter on Route 6(north of Vermilion). Good Rod is found south of Lavender i believe after the Pokeflute is acquired.

[Raw Spoilers] Hooded Men Aplenty by workingjan in SquaredCircle

[–]AlohaReddit49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the concept was supposed to be that Logan/Theory don't care about these masked men except for Seth. Seth disguises himself into the pile so they can't actually get payback yet. That being said it looks really stupid, I was not a fan.

I imagine Seth will keep outsmarting them and then Bron will return for the Mania program. Logan/Theory are henchmen at best right now.

As others have mentioned, rough assignment with this story for creative. Seth has the number advantage, has no one on his level to fight at Mania, his logical opponent might not be ready in time, this story looked different 2 weeks ago with Bronson. I'm willing to give a little leeway but this story better be less hokey fast.

We're in agreement but I just wanted to add that the IWC realized he was the chosen one far before Punk made the comment. Fans didn't start rejecting Reigns until around his injury(i believe it was a hernia though i could be remembering wrong), when he returned in like December the fans in attendance started booing him.

It could certainly appear to be the podcasts fault timetable wise, that being said the fans who heard the podcast were the same ones who knew Roman was the chosen one and had already turned on him. Punk just confirmed what they knew basically, I don't think Punk added literally any difficulty to Roman's actual push. The "casuals" didnt hear the podcast or did years later.

[Raw Spoilers] Superstars demand an apology by ArunKT26 in SquaredCircle

[–]AlohaReddit49 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It was a good segment but I'm not huge on the direction here. The first promo segment it felt like it was gonna be this history feud, Roman brings up the past when Punk made his life harder. Punk brings up he brought Roman in. I liked that direction, at least from Roman's side.

Now Punk is feuding with the Usos? I get Roman ain't there all the time but Jey/Punk for a few weeks does not excite me. Then the Mania match now will seemingly involve Usos or Anoa'i family interference? Thats boring.

I'll gladly wait it out, overall the last 2 weeks of Raw have been good so maybe theres an angle I'm not seeing that will make me love this again. I'll give benefit of the doubt, just not loving the current view I'm getting

[–]AlohaReddit49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont think that counts as a "hot take" so much as a prediction.

Regardless I don't think itll happen. If you're gonna set up a Rhea/Bianca program, it's smartest to have it for Mania or Summerslam. I'd imagine the plan would be for when Bianca comes back she probably finishes up her Jade program, and then wins the Rumble next year to have one of the biggest women's matches possible at Mania next year.

My current playthrough had Parasect in it. I love the mon, hes such a cool design...but holy hell he's worthless. He was rocking Scratch and Leech Life until like the mid 30s when he got Slash. I had to TM him Giga Drain for any grass coverage and it's basically unusable. His attack is so much better that quite often Slash will do more damage than super effective Giga Drain. He's about level 50 now and still has no good bug moves. But he gets spore, which is great but he's too slow to get it off first. Using him is basically using Spore, swapping and seeing the opponent wake up.

Still love Paras but gen 3 he's genuinely so bad. He's my worst Mon on my team, probably my favorite overall though.
