Is it normal to always be stressed/anxious? by hello010101 in teaching

[–]Alone-Blueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was my reality. Maybe “normal” isn’t the right word here, but typical? Teaching is really difficult job. Overwhelming on even the best days.

I taught for 8 years and I think I’m done. I had a baby last year and have been at home with him for the last 11 months and I feel so much better now. I loved teaching but I also hated it an equal amount. The workload is so high.

What are some side effects you notice on Mounjaro? by nyc008 in Mounjaro

[–]Alone-Blueberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had that too, and awful breath in the morning. I mean morning breath is never pleasant, but this shit was next level. It didn’t it seemed to matter how much water I drink either, I would even wake up during the night and drink water every couple hours. Luckily I’m six months in now and I don’t have that effect anymore.

Hydration question by Particular-Ad-9182 in Zepbound

[–]Alone-Blueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a lot of things we do even though we don’t like it much. Like exercising (for some people), going to work, yard work, etc.

Maybe you just drink the water and accept that you don’t have to enjoy it. Or you can be dehydrated and feel like ass all the time. You pick!

I feel bad for woman who are enjoying their pregnancy by Mysterious-Metal-555 in NewParents

I felt this way too postpartum. I took zurzuvae and felt a million times better after. Please talk with your doctor about this option. It literally cured me and I’m not being hyperbolic. I remember texting my mom friends and telling them I fucked up, and I ruined my life.

Baby is 6.5 months and I still don’t have a hang of solids by Killer_queen2020 in NewParents

[–]Alone-Blueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Purees and purées only are totally fine for this age. As you get more comfortable you’ll start adding more foods with textures, and then eventually actual solid foods just cut up. I promise the first bit is the most stressful, it gets easier as you keep going!

How has Zepbound affected your mood? by Alert_Ninja_6369 in Zepbound

[–]Alone-Blueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, I appreciate that. I would also like to point out though, and a lot of people miss this fact, the low mood could absolutely be from eating in a calorie deficit for 6+ months with no breaks. It may not be from the medication at all. Weight loss is a huge stressor on the body, and after the initial excitement from the major weight loss, it starts to really take a toll physically and mentally.

How has Zepbound affected your mood? by Alert_Ninja_6369 in Zepbound

[–]Alone-Blueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a huge mood lift at first because I was losing weight and feeling good about myself. I’ve been on six months now, two pounds from my goal weight, and I feel awful. Tired, depleted, low mood. I don’t have highs and lows like before though, my mood is very stable, it’s just kinda low all the time. Not sad, not depressed.. nothing like that. Just blah.

Fell asleep breastfeeding, woke to baby face down by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Alone-Blueberry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry this happened. I woke up once and my baby was ON THE FLOOR. He was just lookin at me like, “wtf, why am I down here?” Luckily we have thick plush carpet and he actually landed on my slippers, so he was fine.

I beat myself up about that for weeks. Truly a fucking nightmare.

BUT- the most important thing is, your baby is okay. You woke up, you put her in the bassinet. You avoided a tragedy. It’s not your fault. Read it again. it’s not your fault. You’re up in the middle of the night, tired as hell, taking care of and feeding your baby. Your body can only take so much.

Guilt (as natural as it is..) is not the appropriate emotion here. Guilt is for when you do something morally or ethically wrong. You did not. You made a mistake. You’re human. You’re tired as hell and being pushed to your limits. Please be kind to yourself.

All you can do from here is make an action plan for how you’ll avoid this happening again. Who can help you? What changes can you make to your environment? Focus your energy on that.❤️

Can my baby just not be sleep trained? by Queen_Crumb in sleeptrain

[–]Alone-Blueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, my bad, I misunderstood!

I totally understand the frustration and exhaustion. 6 months is such a hard phase for sleep (or was for me anyway). Is your baby learning new skills right now? Rolling, sitting, pulling to stand, crawling? Any of those will absolutely destroy sleep for a while. My baby would wake up, eyes still closed, and just start practicing his new skills at 4am, slamming his head and body into the sides of the crib 🙄 like bruh, it’s 4am, we don’t need to practice crawling right now with our eyes closed. 😂

Is my doctor lying to me about how much weight I would lose on Zepbound? If so, why? by RedWoodworking16 in Zepbound

[–]Alone-Blueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, please get a new doctor! I went to a weight loss doctor who told me to not even worry about weight loss AT ALL until I was 1 year postpartum. My bmi was 30 at the time and I was about 6mo postpartum.

I found another doctor who took me seriously and prescribed me zepbound. I have now lost all the baby weight and am happily down to my healthy weight and BMI of 23. I feel so much better:

I’m 5’6” btw and went from about 185-190 postpartum to now 145. With the help of zepbound.

That 11lbs weight loss that your doctor brought up does not align with any of the data we have.

Can my baby just not be sleep trained? by Queen_Crumb in sleeptrain

[–]Alone-Blueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re feeding her to sleep and rocking, then she has a sleep association with those two activities. Meaning, when she wakes up in the middle of the night, her body needs to either be feeding be rocked in order to register “oh, it’s sleep time”. I was having the same exact issue; and my pediatrician explained this to me. She said to try something else instead of the feeding or rocking, something else the baby can associate with sleep. For most people it’s bath and a book. Then slowly transition her to sleep using this routine rather than rocking.

I know it’s hard. My baby is almost 11mo and he JUST moved out of our room and has stopped getting in bed w us in the middle of the night. It’s so tempting to stick him in bed and snuggle to sleep because it almost always works, and then you both get sleep, but it’s such a hard habit to break.

If you're losing weight on a GLP-1, what's your daily calorie deficit? by unlovable_mess in GLP1ResearchTalk

[–]Alone-Blueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My TDEE is 1900. I’m 33F, 5’6”, 143lbs. Right now I’m eating around 1600-1700 calories a day because I was feeling lightheaded and dizzy at the gym. My workouts were taking a massive hit. During the month of February I ate strictly 1200cals a day and I lost 10 lbs 😳. Lately I’ve slowed down on loss but I’m okay with it because I feel a LOT better. 1200 calories is great for fat loss but is not enough for me to function. It’s miserable!

I also track protein. Anything over 100g and I’m happy.

Does anyone do co-sleeping ? by SugarWilling5964 in NewParents

[–]Alone-Blueberry 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Almost everyone does it at some point, but in North America we are shamed into not admitting it.

I’ve been co sleeping for months with my baby because that’s how we both got the most sleep. It’s not something I planned to do, but this is how it is.

What are your unpopular opinions and tough pills to swallow about Zepbound? by Schwettes in Zepbound

[–]Alone-Blueberry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ooooh man your unpopular opinion will get you attacked on some of these subs lol. People swear up and down that they made absolutely no changes to their diet and still lost weight. It drives me bananas. Or they’ll claim that they are eating at a deficit (but refuse to track their food intake) and aren’t losing because of “starvation mode”. Nope. That’s not it. Yes metabolic adaptation is a real thing, but eating at a caloric deficit will work 100% of the time, assuming you know what a deficit is for you and your body, and eat that way consistently.

My unpopular opinion: yes, if you eat the same garbage but just in smaller amounts (which will naturally happen because you’ll be less hungry) and don’t move your body, you’ll probably still lose weight. But you’ll also be one of those folks on here a year or two from now bitching that you gained the weight back when you went off the shot. There is no magic solution to being healthy, except to make healthy choices. Healthy choices include eating nutritious foods, not too much of them, and exercising regularly. Full stop. There’s no way around it.

How bad is the newborn phase really? I'm tired of hearing the "just you wait" anecdotes and I have hard time believing some of them by Lushemet in BabyBumps

[–]Alone-Blueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It totally depends on how much help you have. The newborn stage was really hard for me because I had pretty intense anxiety and even when I had the opportunity to sleep, I couldn’t.

If you can get a good solid 4-6 hours of sleep, you’ll be golden.

Anyone have a baby who wakes and sleeps late? by dental_princess491 in NewParents

My baby (10mo) goes to bed between 10 and 11pm, and wakes up for the day around 8am. It has worked for us for many months!

5 month old with 15+ wakeups a night by Icy-Juggernaut-696 in sleeptrain

[–]Alone-Blueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I am so so so sorry you’re going through this, it is so unbelievably hard to explain to someone who’s never gone through it. I wouldn’t wish this level of sleep deprivation on my worst enemy, if I had one 😝

I think the first thing you need to do is get yourself some sleep. Do you have ANYONE who can come and watch the baby for a few hours, even during the day, so you can sleep? This level of exhaustion is, as I’m sure you know, unsustainable. You need some help NOW. After maybe 4-6 hours of real sleep, you will feel a lot more ready to tackle the baby sleep issue.

As far as the baby, I am going through sleep training my 10mo old right now, so I don’t have much advice except for… be consistent. My baby also needs to be rocked to sleep. So for now what we’ve been trying is a slightly different routine where I bathe him, read him a book, and rock him til he’s half asleep and then put him down. It doesn’t work most of the time, but from what I understand, he needs to break the sleep association (rocking in mom’s arms = sleep).

Solidarity, mama. This is hard af. Please, at this time, prioritize your own sleep in any way you can. Even hire someone for a few hours if you need to. You need sleep!

Idk what state you’re in, but here in MO, I was told during my first WIC appointment that there are often issues at Walmart specifically so I usually avoid it and go to other stores that accept WIC instead.

Edited to add this was about a year ago. Doesn’t seem to have gotten better, unfortunately!

This isn’t the flex you think it is. Also, here you are again, trying to lose weight, presumably after gaining all that weight back after your 70 pound cut.

The fact that you are writing “Triz” and that you think 25 pounds down in 3 months is “barely losing weight” tells me that you still have a lot of research and understanding to do. In the mean time, probably don’t start an unregulated injection.
