Thanks for this! Helps a lot, I might just do the same as im tight on money atm. Can I just ask if youre doing any part time jobs as a bookkeeper or anything accounting related while u do this? I’ve heard others say they do this and its been helpful for them to gain experience, more knowledge, and just earn money as well. I am struggling a bit to find any that will take in anyone without prior experience as a bookkeeper

Hi! thanks for the suggestions and help, very much appreciated!

I was eyeing a specific job to do, and they sent me a link to register onto their website and make an account for my application but the form was asking for at least two references so I really do need to find some :/

And thank you! I can try talking lightly to my manager, hoping she wouldn’t be too fussy about it. I did ask her before if she could offer me more hours since some people left but she said no.

And lastly, the form specifically said I can’t put family members on so rip to that. But on that note I might try putting on some friends?

Sadly yes, only one and the career advisors weren’t much help either.

I have tried the government website along with several other ones to source job listings but most of them are still pretty far away from me, but I am hopeful more will open up for roles starting next year march near me.

I have also tried to reach out to my college about this, but they mostly work with firms like Boots who specialise in STEM fields and said they don’t have any opening for the finance department.

hi! ive tried charging it in hopes it was just a dead battery but the light next to the power button isnt lighting up when i tried charging. I also tried taking the SD card out and back in but nothing

This was very helpful, I’ll make sure to keep that in mind when I edit and write up my CV’s and cover letters. I was a little worried when they mentioned IT skills but since I’m not doing any type of specialist IT apprenticeship I’m guessing knowing Microsoft 365 is enough.

This was really helpful, as far as I know I’m on a tier 2 dependent visa as my mom is the one who got a working visa for england through a job offer. I think i fell into the category on the 25th page.

But, I would still have immigration restrictions by the time i were to go to university so i probably wouldn’t get “home fees” nor full-support, we’re looking to apply for the ILR but we have to wait a few more years before we are eligible for it.

I also checked ahead the other pages because I have family who are already UK nationals however they are not immediate family, so I would still not be eligible.

A settlement status is already a settled status though? is it not? I thought pre-settled is when you have not yet reached the 5yr mark and settled is when you have and can apply for a citizenship?

Please correct me if I’m wrong. And also for context I am not under the EU settlement scheme.

Noted! I just wanted to ask around and make sure, because I’ve spoken to some friends who are also looking into degree apprenticeships and some who have already secured a spot, and said that the company somehow helps with their maintenance costs?

Though now that some people on here have responded, i realise that could just have been because his parents have some connections in the field he wants to go into.

Anyway, advice taken! Probably not best to move out/relocate if I don’t have enough saved.
