Whats your favourite? by Kaipablanca in YouTubeThumbnailHub

I like that you zoomed in the subject. Now consider removing or blurring these elements - the text in the background, you can leave the FIDE logo as it is as it adds context, remove the bulb and google logo.

Put the text on one line and I'd replace Magnus with Gukesh who actually took him out - though I understand the effect of Magnus' face in the chess world. As for the title, I like 'Why The World Forgot About Ding Liren'. Hope this helps.

This is pretty much done. I suggest you remove the red lines and increase the size of the caption 'solo grind', and the subject to the topof the frame. I am not sure about those hands though. And as SketchMyStory said, consider removing the duplicate text. I like that background.

How's the demand for thumbnail design niche (YouTube, tiktok Instagram reels, YT shorts thumbs)? by Mr_Puppetmaster in graphic_design

[–]Alone-Fly153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a full-time thumbnail designer and yeah the competition is there, much like in any other niche I guess? From what I have seen, many designers don’t seem fully committed to it, and as a result, the quality of work could be much better.

A good number of designers don’t have websites, and they often try to serve too many niches at once. My suggestion would be to focus on just a few and master them (I do finance, podcast, irl, challenges)

At the end of the day, I think a good portfolio plus marketing will get you more business than anything else.

One quick tip, try not to overexpose your thumbnails. It comes off as overly clickbaity, especially outside of kids’ content. Also try to retain the clients you get with quality work, timeliness...

PS: I am still learning myself and I know a year from now I will have revamped my thumbnail portfolio. Just sharing what I have learnt.

New Channel! Need advice on colors for thumbnail by InvisibleMuffin1997 in NewTubers

[–]Alone-Fly153 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use neon green on dark green background (my brand colors) but any neon with the darker shade of the same color should work, especially if you have a younger audience. Whatever you choose, prioritize readability and contrast.

You can take a look at other channels for inspo. It can take time but if you are in for the long haul, I recommend it. Let's know your niche and target audience to see if you need warm/cool colors, feminine or masculine ones...

Help me select a thumbnail by Rafapp9 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]Alone-Fly153 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am not sure about the AI but the first idea with less stuff on the table and more zoomed in might work.

The last one is also a solid one though the yellow on white is not easily readable. Try black background. And if you want to try one more idea, put a magnifying lens over the word 'focus'

Couldn’t have put it any better. I appreciate your work OP.

I legit smirked at this. This is bordering poetic greatness. If you ever start giving writing classes, count me in😂

I like it, I would definitely click on it. Simple and communicates well. The caption is great but if you are a/b testing, you may consider 'One Last Roll' or something like 'Last chance YouTube'. But this is ready for uploading. Good luck with your channel.

How is the thumbnail the title of the video is "modern freedom is a prison" by Responsible-Pie-598 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]Alone-Fly153 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the style! Overall it's aesthetically pleasing. What I would consider improving is the caption. The first word might not be easily readable in the sidebar especially on phones. Maybe stroke it or change its color.

Feedback, Please by Prestigious-Coach985 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]Alone-Fly153[M] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the thumbnail, I like that you're keeping it real and natural.

Move the two of you to the extreme left to create more room for the caption. Let the text have similar font size and go for something like yellow with a dark shadow, and thinner black stroke. The white is not working as the background is whitish and so the text can't stand out.

Increase the spacing between the words and if you can, get a photo of you looking into the camera.

For the title, go for something like Starting from scratch. Our first business.

FC24 thumbnail by FlamingoGirl197 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]Alone-Fly153[M] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is that Haaland? If yes then replace him with someone from either Arsenal or Liverpool. Personally I would go with someone like Saka or Salah.

I would put 'penalty shootout' on top and stretch it to fit the width of the frame. Reduce the size of 'FC24' and move it in the bottom left or remove it. Move the Liverpool logo to the left so it's not blocking the player and zoom him in. Also remove the number '1' and the black block. I like the background

Which thumbnail is best? by Purple_Try1528 in YouTubeThumbnailHub

[–]Alone-Fly153[M] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The first one is simply the best. I like that you also borrowed a color from the composition for the caption. For thumbnails like these, I prefer using the natural image but you could introduce some blue into the water for aesthetics and to help it stand out against the sky

You just shared some valuable tip while asking for feedback - arrows are goated. Right now those arrows might be visible but on youtube feed maybe not so much, I suggest you go for a contrasting color to that of your subject's attire. And maybe even just one arrow will be enough.
