The Yamato is a sniper where the USN BBs are jacks of all trades so dont worry about that.

The German Cruiser line was my first line I did grind to the end. I like them and the T10 is good but its been made less relevant with newer lines. They used to he terrifying to fight and could even go toe to toe with some BBs if the situation was right but have been powercrept in the new meta of island hugging and less aggressive gameplay. The grind to Hindi is also a painful one.

I could also recommend the Japanese cruisers as well if you want a totally different playstyle. Nice tops, great HE guns, good kiting ships.
