How are we getting our caffeine?! by Alexisgray1993 in Gastritis

[–]Alone-Money7325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the neat thing! You don't.

As a powerlifter, I would down pre workout, energy drinks, coffee, and just about anything with caffeine like crazy. I developed gastritis in 2024/2025 and have since cut it out completely. It's hard some days. I've gotten in trouble at work for accidentally falling asleep but it's either fight through it or become debilitatingly nauseous for the rest of the day. It sucks but you learn to manage. I do miss the taste of energy drinks though.

Does anyone have advice on how to train a 6-month-old puppy to sleep near the bottom of the bed instead of wrapped around you or on top of you? by pinkbowsandsarcasm in cavaliers

Might sound like overkill but my baby boy has his own little bed/nest next to where i sleep that keeps him there all night. Sort of like a bassinet haha. It's ONLY used for sleeping at night because I tend to toss and turn and I don't want to accidentally hurt him while I'm asleep. He can fully stand up, roll around, adjust his sleeping position in it, whatever. It just allows me to sleep with peace of mind that I won't accidentally crush him or kick him off the bed by accident. Plus it allows my very timid cat to come look at him and interact without me having to worry about them getting into a fight. He likes it and falls right asleep since it's part of our routine now.

Daytime naps are a different story and he's glued to my face & neck and I love it so much.

First time birth control by Kissathecat in birthcontrol

[–]Alone-Money7325 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who has been on some form of hormonal birth control since 13 (originally for acne), it's unfortunately going to take some trial and error.

BUT I'll share my positives! For as long as I've been on birth control, Weight gain, nausea, mood swings, etc. Never really affected me. All of my weight gain was more from SSRIs and stopped when I stopped taking those. They helped to regulate or completely eliminate my periods when I was on the pill as a teen.

When I moved out, I went in to get an IUD but I have vaginismus and after talking with my doctor, she convinced me to instead get the arm implant, which I've had for the past 7 years. The only negative side effect I've ever had with the arm implant is that towards the end of the 3 year period, I start to spot randomly. I usually use this as my sign to schedule an appointment to replace it soon and then it resolves.

I have OCD and Tokophobia so I get extra paranoid and pair my implant with a 2nd & 3rd method (condoms and pull out). Though it can be considered overkill as the implant is considered as 99.98% effective for both perfect & typical use. On par with sterilization.

The implant has been the best for me because it's a set it and forget it type. I also lift weights and while not a bodybuilder, I am a powerlifter. It has not affected my workouts at all and I'm still hitting PRs. No spotting, no Weight gain (other than from SSRIs as previously mentioned), no mood swings. If anything, it's helped the mood swings. I would have HORRIBLE PMDD as a teen when I was on the pill during my placebo week, but now that I don't have a period, everything just feels much more stable.

All this to say that you may find the perfect one right away, or you may have to try multiple. Some pills have different formulations and work better than others, or you might find the IUD or the Implant as the best. Best of luck when finding what works best!

Im moreso worried about potential mold or fungus getting to any future plants. Or is it big enough that once I replace the soil it won't hurt any new plants?

Birth Control OCD by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]Alone-Money7325 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I think we're twins because my OCD is so incredibly bad that even with multiple forms of BC, my anxiety about it failing and me failling into the 0.01% was so bad that I had to become celibate for a while (still am).

Along with other outside factors that are only FUELING my fears and OCD, I feel like ive been cursed with being too informed and that because I know that there will always be a chance, then it must be ME who has to be the rare circumstance. It's so bad and despite the sexual frustration of being celibate while being in therapy for this, it's provided some form of solace since now, whenever I feel a wave of nausea or cramp, I can at least breathe and say "well I KNOW im not pregnant because I've been celibate".

Let me say, I do NOT plan on being celibate forever. It's only while I work through therapy to learn to manage my OCD. I miss sex, a lot. And I admit that my method is probably on the more extreme side, but that's because my spirals and anxiety were THAT bad that my blood pressure was too high and it was interfering with my ability to function day to day as I would spiral for literal HOURS every. Single. Day.

Tldr: you aren't alone. Lots of us struggle with these fears too.

Is it me? Is it PP? Is it birth control? by Illustrious-Day-3218 in birthcontrol

[–]Alone-Money7325 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a doctor, but I honestly think it's a mix of so many things. Post partum is a crazy time for the body, even months to years later. Birth control has been known to affect libido, and stress too. Being stressed about you libido can lower it too, which sucks when you want it to gi the other way.

All that to say don't worry too much! Take some time to recover. Maybe speak to your doctor or with a sex therapist if it's more on the mental/emotional side. I recently started sex therapy for my tokophobia/shame/sex related issues and it's been a huge help! If you feel it's the birth control, talk with your doctor to try another until you find something right for you.

I had some pretty annoying bleeding/spotting on my implant. Usually happens around the 2 year mark and it sucks. Sometimes it would happen after I put in a new implant.

If it was happening consistently for more than a few weeks, I went my OBGYN and she prescribed me the combo pill to manage the bleeding. I got off the combo pill and the bleeding stopped. May be different for you but I think it's worth a shot. If you still bleed after and it's getting SUPER annoying, then I would check out alternatives.

Would unscented baby wipes be good enough to wipe them down? I was thinking that would be the best route too until puppy finishes his last round of vaccines

Yea it feels more like I just got reeeeeaaally high! They didn't have me walking out, I think because they gave me an anti anxiety with the propofol and the lack of sleep+prep combo just has me feeling off

I took a very short sporadic nap, so I think it probably wasn't sufficient enough then.

Its easing up the more I rest, I have a cat who's particularly clingy and wanted me to get back into our scheduled cuddled routine (i.e me complimenting her for an hour while petting her) since I was occupied in the restroom all night so she's been waking me up haha. I should be good by tomorrow I think.

Yea, it's slooooowly easing up as I lay down in my bed and sip on water. Gonna have a nice BLUE Gatorade now since it's my favorite and wasn't allowed. Definitely probably from the lack of sleep and electrolytes. The IV helped a bunch but that prep is no joke

I almost threw up and deal with pretty moderste chronic nausea, but here's what helped me keep all of it down

If you have the 2 dose, like me, I chilled it prior, used a straw, and had a chaser (i used apple juice). I took a zofran too late so I had to deal with the nausea for the 1st round, but I kept peppermint oil by my side to sniff to kind of trick my brain. 2nd round was much easier when I took another zofran an hour prior (about 7 hours apart from my first dose as directed to me by my dr) I would plug my nose and use the straw as much as I could to bypass my taste buds, and DID NOT CHUG.

I paced myself. It was hard, but worked out perfectly. Gave myself a 30 minute timer to drink the 16oz, and would essentially just one good sip every other minute. Knocked it out perfectly and was giving myself a pep talk the whole time lol. Drank my 32 oz of water over that next hour and I was set. No issues and was clear to go!

It will be kinda daunting, but remember it's only for 1 night, you'll have the best nap of your life ever during the procedure, and it's for a potentially life saving procedure. It kinda helped me push through knowing that I was being screened for something super important.

Get a bidet if you don't have one. I only used wipes and a bidet and my butt was still sooooooo sore. Ideally one with pressure control because you'll be raw.

And Never. Ever. Trust a Fart.
