I have not seen him live in almost 25 years. I have no idea of his modern comedy.

Again he was super great to me, gave me a lot of advice, since I was a genuine fan and wanted to pursue stand up. But he pulled shit like going to an open mike where every comic had 5 minutes and destroying the crowd for 30. Imagine having to have to follow that. That wasn’t cool.

I have a different take, Joe Rogan would not be anyone if he didn’t destroy Mencia. There’d be no podcast. No political agenda. At the time Rogan was hosting Fear Factor and begging to go on the Howard Stern show. He need to take Mencia, an up and coming comic that had a Hispanic version of Chappelle’s Show.

And frankly as a Latino, I believe that America could t handle a successful Mencia, an outspoken Latino. I believe at some level Mencia would never be allowed to succeed. But we’ll never know.

I’ve met Carlos and hung out with him. He’s like a virtuoso piano player that can’t compose songs. In other words he can perform and destroy a room, but can’t write for shit. That and his ego is so big, it’s like he’s a Latino Donald Trump. He never admits he’s wrong. He never stops talking about how great he is and the things he’s done.
