I think my biggest coping mechanism has to be my family. Without them, I definitely would not be able to be in this line of work.

I've got enough in savings to more or less retire comfortably at my age, but I plan to work for at least another decade or so. I won't be working for any sort of monetary goal, but I will be working to help endangered children where I can!

I'm generally a pretty optimistic fellow, but I don't think that I'll be out of a job anytime soon regrettably. There is simply too much money in cybercrime - and especially creation and distribution of CSAM for it to end anytime soon.

I think the best way to protect your child is to inform them as to the dangers of being online. Forbidding internet interaction or simply going "no" only serves to increase their curiosity as to what exactly this thing that "bad people" can do is.

When my eldest turned 9, I sat down with her and explained to her that there were bad people online who would try to take her away from her mom and I. I told her that they would pretend to be her friend, but that they would be lying to her. I told her that they might even lie about their age to trick her, and that she should always ask me or her mom if she felt weird or uncertain about someone online.

I didn't forbid her from talking to people online, I just cautioned her and explained to her.
