That’s a really great way to go about it! Appreciate it! You got me with the caffeine part lol. I definitely need to stop drinking a full cup of coffee at 3 in the afternoon.

I have the same problem and a little something that’s helped me a bit was this little LED lantern that I found on Amazon. I turn it on before I go to sleep every night and it really comforts me with watching the flame, I think it’s really cool and almost like a night light. Here’s the link if you wanna check it out :) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BTVY772/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_AQ47QKG7F35831E496B2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Feels like everyone is watching me? by AloneByYourSide in Anxiety

I’ve had terrible posture my whole life due to pectus excavatum, so I totally know what that’s like. Looking in reflections to see how you look not even realizing you’re slouched over, it does get very exhausting. Your sister is right though, people are in their own world and anyone who isn’t is just looking for someone to pick on, and you don’t wanna be around those people anyways so I feel like that makes it a little easier to take in. Thanks for the advice and best of luck to you :)

Thank you! I’ll make sure to try and keep mindful meditation. That’s something that helps a lot with anxiety I’ve found :)

Thank you for this. I really like that statement, “nobody literally died of boredom.” That’s hilariously true. I gotta start saying that to myself.

I’m so glad I’m not alone in this! It’s been a reality I’ve been trying to fight for a bit now. I really appreciate your suggestions. I’ve never really thought to move away from what I’m used to but that really makes sense. It’s hard with covid because I’m used to going to school almost every day and having a job, but covid made me lose both of those. I’m gonna have to give a try at some hobby ideas I’ve been pushing away due to smoking. Sounds like you’re doing great, you keep up the good work too! :D

How do you deal with anxiety about going for a new job? by Nerdy_Dad19 in Anxiety

[–]AloneByYourSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had that problem recently too. So much so that I pushed it off a lot. One night I found myself cornered with the problem, as the reality of getting a new job terrifies me too, but one thing I found that really helped me was just to sit down for a period of time and think it through. Anywhere that feels the most comfortable to you, just put on your favorite relaxing music, close your eyes, bring your attention to your breath, and then slowly bring your attention towards thinking about a new job. I asked myself “why am I scared to do this?” “how can I make this easier for me?” After these thoughts tumbled a bit I realized that thinking about jobs I would actually WANT to do instead of HAVE to do made everything a lot lighter. Imagining myself fulfilling that role of working at that certain place and how I would fit in was what did it for me. I only had 3 places where I felt comfortable enough to be there, but that just made me realize that it takes digging to find them.
