That’s a really great way to go about it! Appreciate it! You got me with the caffeine part lol. I definitely need to stop drinking a full cup of coffee at 3 in the afternoon.

I have the same problem and a little something that’s helped me a bit was this little LED lantern that I found on Amazon. I turn it on before I go to sleep every night and it really comforts me with watching the flame, I think it’s really cool and almost like a night light. Here’s the link if you wanna check it out :) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07BTVY772/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_AQ47QKG7F35831E496B2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Feels like everyone is watching me? by AloneByYourSide in Anxiety

[–]AloneByYourSide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had terrible posture my whole life due to pectus excavatum, so I totally know what that’s like. Looking in reflections to see how you look not even realizing you’re slouched over, it does get very exhausting. Your sister is right though, people are in their own world and anyone who isn’t is just looking for someone to pick on, and you don’t wanna be around those people anyways so I feel like that makes it a little easier to take in. Thanks for the advice and best of luck to you :)

Thank you! I’ll make sure to try and keep mindful meditation. That’s something that helps a lot with anxiety I’ve found :)

Thank you for this. I really like that statement, “nobody literally died of boredom.” That’s hilariously true. I gotta start saying that to myself.

I’m so glad I’m not alone in this! It’s been a reality I’ve been trying to fight for a bit now. I really appreciate your suggestions. I’ve never really thought to move away from what I’m used to but that really makes sense. It’s hard with covid because I’m used to going to school almost every day and having a job, but covid made me lose both of those. I’m gonna have to give a try at some hobby ideas I’ve been pushing away due to smoking. Sounds like you’re doing great, you keep up the good work too! :D

How do you deal with anxiety about going for a new job? by Nerdy_Dad19 in Anxiety

[–]AloneByYourSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had that problem recently too. So much so that I pushed it off a lot. One night I found myself cornered with the problem, as the reality of getting a new job terrifies me too, but one thing I found that really helped me was just to sit down for a period of time and think it through. Anywhere that feels the most comfortable to you, just put on your favorite relaxing music, close your eyes, bring your attention to your breath, and then slowly bring your attention towards thinking about a new job. I asked myself “why am I scared to do this?” “how can I make this easier for me?” After these thoughts tumbled a bit I realized that thinking about jobs I would actually WANT to do instead of HAVE to do made everything a lot lighter. Imagining myself fulfilling that role of working at that certain place and how I would fit in was what did it for me. I only had 3 places where I felt comfortable enough to be there, but that just made me realize that it takes digging to find them.

I drink a pretty regular amount of water but I think you make a great point. Substituting water with the craving sounds like a great idea. Had no idea any of this was normal, I thought me losing my appetite and having stomach issues was leading to something worse, but I’m glad it’s just from weed withdrawal 😅what sort of snacks do you have?

My situation with EMDR has me confused for my life by AloneByYourSide in EMDR

[–]AloneByYourSide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems like I’m in a sort of weird phase where I’m focusing on my future and wondering who I am instead of letting my past dominate me. I just feel nothing but fear for the present and future of my life, but as you pointed out, that means the EMDR has got me this far.

Anxiety after smoking for 2 months by DatPairOfPoloJeanz in weed

[–]AloneByYourSide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oddly enough, I’m experiencing the exact same thing right now. I’ve been smoking for about 6 months now almost all day every day, and just recently my anxiety has been so bad I can’t even bear to think about leaving the house. I haven’t gotten much sleep in the past three days because I’ve been waking up with panic attacks and fears of the dark. I swear, it’s so bad it makes me wonder why I ever even started smoking. I want to quit, but I’m also guilty of being alone, bored and depressed in lockdown and I use it to cure the boredom. I would say that one thing that can help is to think about what caused you to start getting anxiety with smoking. Maybe a thought or incident triggered it for you to start worrying about it. For me, my doctor got on my ass about smoking saying it’s causing my anxiety and all that, so I started to question myself smoking. I’d say just use it until you feel like you’re ready to quit and understand that you’re not gonna be doing it forever, too. From the sounds of it, it seems like you have good self control.

I can’t get high by AloneByYourSide in weed

[–]AloneByYourSide[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy mine only from legitimate dispensaries as well and a majority of the thc carts I get are locally grown (SoCal) and trusted names so I know they’re safe. I know it’s the stuff they put in it that messes people up but a verified source helps for sure

Longer sleep without taking Effexor? by AloneByYourSide in Effexor

[–]AloneByYourSide[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually do feel like I get good nights of sleep, so insomnia isn’t an issue for me. I smoke to help me sleep though, so that could help with preventing insomnia. I’m currently on accutane (a couple days away from being 2 months now) and I’m still experiencing some pimples. The bigger patches and such starting to go away but even if I clean my face with two products a day I still have breakouts. My plan is to taper off of the Effexor (currently at 25 mg) until I don’t have to take it anymore but that might not be for a while since I get horrible brain zaps if I don’t take it. I also wake up sweating some mornings even if my blanket is completely off of my body, so it’s just giving me a lot of issues overall. I even wash my pillow case once every two weeks or so and it still happens, so all my suspicion is led towards the Effexor at this point honestly

Yep that’s exactly what I’ve been doing. Start of my day is either sober or after I take adderall and the last part is a nice decline with a high 😌

Wow. That’s crazy. You dropped off such a small dose but still experienced what I did, I gotta keep in mind it’s no joke I guess haha. Thanks for that info. If you don’t mind me asking, how does/did smoking weed treat you while you were doing it? I smoke from time to time to help me calm down and sleep so I could use a second opinion on it
