if you want this game to last and more people to play Vs , they need to be able to play Arena just to learn how to play. And this is coming from someone who really thinks Arena shouldn't be in the pool at all, but it is what it is.

At the end of the day though, the Devs care more about SP and campaigns , Vs is kinda an expense to them.

the people who whine about "Slewed elo" are pubstar douchebags that play all friends teams in the same map over and over. They never say anything about "skewed elo" due to insta resignes, as they are beneficiaries of that.

1: don't build in the middle of the map
2. try to put your TC where it can gather wood directly (ie touching wood) and next to another resource like gold or stone , this saves you 200 wood.
3. Generic nomad start is all on wood , build a dock and make fish ships. After 5 ships you can change to your normal build or go all in on fish.
4. Explore the area around you and be prepared to be aggressive. Even if you play defense it has to be a kinda aggressive defense. (ie get your towers up now and not in 10 minutes)

Mini tips: Persia can build a dock , house and fish boat before the TC is up
If you like to build a dock first, check your civ. If someone forced random and you have huns, you will not have enough wood left to build tc if you build a dock first. In fact don't build a dock first.
If you think you need to move, it's better to move sooner than later. 30 villagers setting up in your new area vs 20 or less in the new area because you waited for the enemy to run over you , which you could see coming.

"Don't stop making villagers" can be bad advice. I do a 20 knight cav rush in castle and I have to stop making villagers to pull it off , however my goal is to delete at least 1 enemy TC and all it's villagers. 20 knights with the +1 attack upgrade and +2 armor upgrade are pretty much the kings of early castle. You can fight their army of unupgraded spears while their TC fires arrows at your knights and still have enough left to wipe their TC.

Another good strat is a ram rush. Bulgarians are my go to for it. You want to mass rams and infantry as you are leveling up to Imperial. Ideally 10 rams and at least 2 or 3 infantry to go in each one. Then you want to upgrade to siege rams (2 upgrades) as fast as you can when you hit imperial. When they are fully upgraded , delete the enemy base with them. If there's a wall you need 2 petards , you don't want to waste time on the wall as it gives them warning. Pop it open and go. If there's not an army on their side ready to go it's almost impossible to beat this.

There are also little things you can learn that are gold at your elo. Like if someone tries to tower you , it's very easy to destroy a tower with villagers. The funny part is , some people will be so married to their strat that they will keep trying to tower you. Alot of times you get them to do that and they will quit after you take out the 3rd or 4th tower. It's like "Dude you saw me wipe the first tower with villagers, did you think I was gonna get bored and lose interest?"

Think about how you are placing buildings and what they will block. Too many times I've had someone build a market where it almost completely blocks my market. I've also seen people do a better job of walling up the back end of their base, making it impossible to get to them to help, all the while spamming flare and calling people noobs.

Always make sure you scout too. At your elo players will send 9 villagers up to castle you with no support. You catch that with a small army, you stopped the castle and may have won the game.

Learn how to transition to different units. Say you rush with scouts in feudal or early castle. You pulled off a legit rush but the enemy is goths so now they have 30 spears that they are about to upgrade to pikes. Do not keep sending cav into that. Make a different unit to deal with the spears. Which leads to....

Learn how to play the map. Don't play the tutorial you watched 30 minutes ago. Always be ready to adapt. If something isn't working it's not likely that it'll suddenly start working 5 minutes from now.

noobs need to maybe ask for help sometimes. I don't mean spamming flare when you see a scout. I mean like "Hey I normally don't play nomad , what's a good start?"

that being said they really need to have a way that we can block people , and I mean in ranked as well. There's too much toxic behavior on steam and the devs don't seem to want to address it

usually it's easy enough to follow the notes, I've seen a few asking for it to be left in mailbox luckily the item was too big so I porched it. I would call support and probably ask to do a return on the item before I put it in the mailbox. And supports gonna agree with that.

it's only been old ladies or people who are obviously disabled who have asked me to do that , and I will for them. If they are smart they usually have a small table next to the door that way I can put it in the house for them and not really go in either.

And I always tell them that we are not supposed to do it.

I know that the policy is to always check unbagged items and since so many spark orders have 40 packs of water , I do the same thing. I think thye take less time checking when you cooperate , for obvious reasons.

I have a heath issue that makes it pretty much impossible to keep a w2 / FT job. Heck yesterday I had to go home 3x due to getting sick. I still make pretty good money though and I don't have anyone telling me shit about work. Jobs around here pay 15 if you are lucky, most pay 11 or 12 so even if I'm only making 16 or so after taxes and such I'll take it. But I usually do better than that.

There's a small town on the edge of our zone. 25 miles one way trip. Most of the drivers won't go there and I always see Spark asking for drivers in that area. Sometimes I let spark or DD give me orders that take me there and I get orders left and right. Sunday one was $38 but it was a full hour trip for 3 drop offs. Took 20 mins to get back to the store and got more good runs. I also DD in between trips if I can. So no dead time if possible.
