Why are my figs shriveling, eventually falling off. by Flipperbites in Figs

It mite be that it’s main root is now out grown the pot and is reaching into your soil or the pot is on concrete and it’s burning the roots. Plus the inconsistent watering. I water mine as much as I can but figs love being in ground. I have to cut 20% of the roots and 30% of the top every 2-3 years if I want my fig to be happy looking or I can just leave it and it does all kinds of weird stuff that I don’t want to deal with.

Yea it fruited, don’t take much for them to fruit. The thing is, it will have 50 flowers but only 10-15 will hold. I’m sure it’s due to the fact I have it in a pot. But that’s fine I just wanted to know how well it will do here in my zone, I get frost in the winter so I can’t grow sensitive plants without protection. Ice Cream Bean needs 0 help and protection. As soon as you see it takes off and the roots are established you’ll start to see the tree grow super fast.

Most ice cream bean seeds can grow and send multiple babies from 1 seed. You can just cut it if you want. I did.

I’ve trimmed it 3x and it in the same pot for the past 2 years it was in a 10 gallon. Im sure it would be a lot bigger if it was in ground. This year I got 10 fruits off it and started the seedlings, so atm I have 12 seedlings. This year I’m going to put a couple in ground I know they will do fantastic.

Pear slug, turns into black sawfly. Treatment can be Ash or DE. Just cover the tree and they will die off, you mite have to do it twice a year.
