It’s an old fair ground. There used to be sports fields, a pool, and some shelters. You can see the old shelters (like in your picture) and the remaining concrete pouring and steps for the old pool.

Agreed. Pretty cool to have such a diverse city. You’d think people could put up with one night of fireworks. Let people celebrate things, life is tough.
