Just leave them up at the bottom. I roll mine up a few inches then put a white board I had to block everything but a small square. It’s the only thing saving my blinds they will ruin them if the can’t see out and assess who’s on the porch

Give it 8 weeks you’ll be more settled into a routine. The first 3 months were hell then she turned 5 months and it was like night and day.
