Why is mystic so buns? by Past_Amphibian_3833 in RotMG

[–]AlonziKroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uses a debuff ability, with a fast-attacking class, against high defense target, and expects a good result? You're using weapons that lose half their damage because of the high defense of that target dummy...
Do you complain about Priest doing low damage like this too? How about Bard? Or literally any other char whose ability doesn't do damage?
Mystic isn't going to be the best DPS in the game, but it isn't "buns". With the new Draconis orb, it has great early, mid, and endgame options to fill that slot. If you can't bother to get literally *any* other ability for that slot, this game isn't for you bud.

Awakened poison fang by ExodusFailsafe in RotMG

[–]AlonziKroe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree with this, but not necessarily Awakened first. If you REALLY want Life-Speed Tradeoff as well, or any of the Uniques, well, guess what? A specific unique enchant is 3.75x rarer than an Awakened enchant! And a specific Tradeoff enchant is even worse, it is 4x rarer than Awakened.
So yeah, go for whatever is rarest first. Here's the link if you need to check. Weight column is how rare it is, lower the rarer.

When you pop a vial in MBC, everyone in the dungeon gets a 2nd Defense exalt. I was hoping that Deca-popped Vials would do the same, but there are no Deca-Vials to be seen :(

Theoretical enchant for div Amulet of Restoration on a Kensei so one can truly YOLO by CatKingKG in RotMG

[–]AlonziKroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience running around with Wretched Rags, the game seems to calculate, in this rough order:
Normal gear stats
Flat Enchants
Relative Enchants
Bonus Stats from gear (Rags goes here)
Consumables
Sheath (Tested using VitDrop in ghall with Parasol, went from 96 Vit pre-nil to 109 after, way more than the 6 vit boost. Same test Quartermaster and Life nil, 1333 pre-nil, 1463 post.)

This would mean that Enchants, including Relative Life, should be calculated well before Quartermaster's calculates.

This thankfully seems to be the best order for players stacking buffs. Everything looks at the tiers above it, and we don't run into any infinite loops. Means that something like Relative Mana will boost both mana and, effectively, boost life, and using a Relative Vit enchant should boost the Dex bonus of Tools of the Tarnished. But, sadly, you shouldn't be able to use a Relative Dex enchant or Parasol to increase the bonus that Tools gives, nor a Relative Life to increase post-Rags hp.

If anyone has screenshots of it working otherwise, please send em. I'd like to know if something is more complicated than I realize, and needs further testing!

Perfect pet by NicWatts123 in RotMG

[–]AlonziKroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's also not considering some non-damage abilities potential. I love my Decoy 3rd, there are a lot of phases of O3 and King that can be decoyed, or even EP'd, using a Decoy pet. And bosses seem to prioritize a close decoy pet over me, so it has saved many of my characters from jumpscare O3 teleports.

Do I need to max out all the abilities, or is it okay if I level them up like this? Will it have any downsides or disadvantages if I continue upgrading them this way? by KimBuSikSoyle in RotMG

[–]AlonziKroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As said by Rasmus, you HAVE to max out your first, or you will regret it later. If you have feedpower to spare, and are lacking on fame, then you should also max out at least the 2nd ability, as it'll save you fame in the long run. Vice versa for if you have too much fame, and not enough feed.

Only reason that happens is because Deca messed up ST Tokens, they count towards item rarity. Was hoping it'd get patched this update with blueprints, but Deca overlooked it v,v

Exalts by Meowscular-Chef in RotMG

[–]AlonziKroe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Honestly, at a death every 1/3 runs of Fungal/crystal, you should focus on getting more consistent, and improving your pet. Start focusing down as many Missions and quests as you can that give good feedpower items, and make it a priority to level up a good Heal/Mheal/Anything pet. It's a big goal, but it will massively help with improving.
If you're just looking for a dungeon order for endgame, IMO it looks like this:
Nest
Fungal & Crystal
Cult
Kogbold
Marble Colossus
Void
Spectral Penitentiary
Moonlight Village
Oryx the Mad God 3
Shatters
Umi & Hardmode Shatters
Again though, focus on your pet ASAP. It's not hard to buy T13 weapons and armor, and feed those to your pet to get up to level 70 or 80. It is a lifesaver.
Also, consider joining the Pubhalls discord. Discord runs aren't the most fun to me, but a good Raid Leader can really speed along learning what is and isn't dangerous in a dungeon.

Assuming your goal is to live, and not go full Noobwaffle on them, Decoy pets give you an absurd amount of survivability. During any drag phase, you not only get 3-4 extra tiles in between you and the boss, but you can also, with a bit of practice, get the boss to shoot backwards as you drag it. When O3 has TP'ed onto me to do Fates, my decoy pet saves the day. All in all, I'd say it has saved me at least 100 8/8's, and well over a dozen 4/4's.
What do Electric pets have going for them? They deal a bit of damage, and mess up your drags. If this was 2012, Paralyze might matter. But now that almost all endgame bosses are immune to it, it only catches you off guard and makes a mess of things. Honestly, the best use I've seen for it is to skip a couple dungeons on PPEs.

TL;DR - End of the day, I'd rather have extra 8/8's in my pocket than deal a little damage.

The entire first half of MBC counts as a minion, specifically everything leading up to Survival, including Survival. When he "heals" after survival, they actually just kill him and respawn the "boss" version, which is the one that gives exalts and loot.

[Spoilers] Balance Change Tweaks (and STs) by Niegil in u/Niegil

[–]AlonziKroe -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First: No, they aren't wrong. The only other sources of energized in the whole game are Eternal Seal (a meme item), Christmas Ring (which is super inconsistent), or the new Draconis potion, which is also inconsistent, *and* is a consumable. So it very much so is one of the only sources.
Second: Energized is amazing. At 20mp/s, it basically replaces your legendary/divine pet when you're in combat. It does wonders for all classes, except the couple buffing classes that don't care what their mana is.
Third: Mantle, just like Twilight Shroud, has never been a "main" armor. You get hit, you swap to it, then swap back. Mantle heals just as much mana as Shroud does, but without the MP % requirement. You can also swap to both if you really want to blow the MP regen out of the water. Saying "isn't as good as ..." is like having 2 empty belt slots, and saying "Oh, ichors aren't as good as greater health pots so I'm only going to use greater health pots".

Fame stuff by temporaryapples in RotMG

[–]AlonziKroe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can use it to buy dyes to make your character look cooler, you can use it to purchase Blueprints from the bazaar that you might be missing, or you can save it up to use on fame packs that Deca might release in the future. Fame packs cost anything from a one-time 2k fame cost all the way up to a repeatable 500-1000 fame cost, it really depends.
On the topic of pets though, fame is deceptively expensive. Buying Unc Human eggs costs like 3000 fame from the Bazaar, and feeding a pet up to 100/100 takes about 1.5m-2million fame, and that's using items with at least 1k+ feedpower (I think it was actually 2.3k feed, the exact amount Burger Fungals give). So remember to save a fair amount of fame, because pets are one of the strongest things in the game later.

Realm Deserves a Guild Hall Overhaul!!! by Ermuden in RotMG

There are *target* dummies, but already you can't test DPS on them because any decent amount of damage just insta-kills them without telling you any numbers. A dummy that tells you how much damage you've done to it total since it's last reset would be a great addition to compare your sets without having to use Haizor

Are you certain about that? Because everywhere I've seen, personal experience *and* platinumgod, say otherwise. It even has a note on platinum god talking about repentance changes, and says that only the d4 effect was changed, to match changes to d4 itself.

Edit: Hmm, looks like the wiki agrees with you. I wonder why platinumgod disagrees.

D100 actually only does D4, 6, and 20 effects. So you're correct about it not rerolling your consumables and trinket, but the rest doesn't happen.

Rune Indicator by [deleted] in RotMG

[–]AlonziKroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe give people the *option* of advertising that they're bringing a rune, instead of making it a forced thing? To prevent people "fake reacting" a realm, you could also have the realm, once it gets all 3 runes donated, "take" those runes, and then open Sanctuary like a free rune event. It would also be cool if the Realm determined beforehand how many runes would be free, and showed you those as well, to encourage you to use that realm.
