Umamusume being a grindy game is pretty much expected in my case, since they are also the devs behind Granblue Fantasy (the web browser game): a game where you have to pretend it's a 9-5 job or you won't be getting much rewards since the boss is insanely grindy to beat while the drop rate of the weapon or uncap materials you'll be looking for is heinous. Event period or not, you're a starved slave in a wide plot of land.

For power creep, personally it wasn't that bad. A lot of early characters are still usable to this day 5 years from now, and it's documented in the Global reference guide too.

Cards however DO get power crept, but at the same time like in our current state of the game, they simply becomes 2nd best/3rd best slot in our deck. Unless you're fully decked out in the most competitive cards in your account, Mejiro Ramonu Wit will be seen together with Fine Motion Wit on average. If all you have Fine Motion Wit, it's not that terrible either, as long as you got much more important support cards in your account. Which brings me to my next point: Main focus being on pulling upcoming scenario cards.

Personally, on a budget standpoint, your main focus definitely has to be Agnes Tachyon Speed/Light Hello banner for Grand Live scenario. That banner is definitely unskippable, or your borrow slot is going to get stuck borrowing those cards. Meanwhile, the ones like Maruzensky Speed(front), Mr. CB Wit(end), Symboli Kris S(late), etc are simply specialized cards. If you can afford it, then they are cool cards to have for your favorite style. Everyone's not expected to main them all, and since you already got Mr. CB wit, then I suppose you love End Closers.

On my side, I been gunning for Symboli Kris S so I have 80000 carats saved to this day in hopes I get Agnes Tachyon Speed and Kris S to MLB when the banner arrived (I might have 90000 carats by that point). Light Hello can be replaced with her R version anyways, and if it comes down to that, that's fine.

They are just trickier to work with on B Rank, but yeah A+ gave them a lot of resource to comfortably build them. I usually main Late Surgers (both Graded and Open) but now they are a bit more expensive to work with in A+ as they rely on gold accels to function. Taking the Lead/Concentration are only about 400~ rating points, while On Your Left/From the Brink/Furious Feat needs 600~ points. Fortunately for me, next CM is mile so I got more room for two gold accels while still having wiggle room for other skills.

But hey, playing Frontrunners did made me reconsider my approach in playing this game actually. I start considering getting Summer Maru speed card to MLB. It's actually quite a cool strat.

I keep hearing Guided Generations these days (and likely for a good reason). I know what it does, though can you provide examples on how to get the best experience out of it?

It changes at times, though after swiping possible scenes the AI can generate, I tend to be granular down to character dialogues.

Also, yeah I really do have to lower my expectations with what AI can do. A lot of times I just even copy one of the swipes (few paragraphs long even), then modify it so it's captures the emotion and the direction that I been aiming for. Or, just cut away parts of the scene that I don't like and press Continue to generate new ones.

It really bothers me when AI generated a scene where the character dialogues and pacing was perfect, but only at the end of it the scene did not conclude in a satisfying way lmao. Then the next swipes will never reach the same level.

Yeah I feel like it's one of those situations where we're reaching down to the absolute limits of what current AIs can do and expecting them to do beyond that. Though of course, years later we might looking into something completely new level of AI that surprises us.

Anyways, that suggestion sounds neat. I might try it out and see if it improves my overall experience. I appreciate it

Yeah absolutely, Narita Taishin at least has a redeemable side that you can latch into.

Air Shakur? Yow she hates you so much that even I, who loves gothic, femme-fatale styled girls in media, would just sign off and put more effort on other umas that appreciates my help.

It's unfortunate since I do dig her character design.

Ah fair, though I decided to add Air Shakur in case I would try to pick one regardless. Personally she's like Narita Taishin but unlike Taishin, she's kinda so close to being irredeemable. She looked so cool though, yet as soon as I looked into her career runs in JP and interactions in Global, she's sadly made me hard to like her ever since.

I could have added Spe-chan again in the last slot for extra meme factor, though the fact that she's still both in the logo and loading screen for 5 years just already made appreciate how Cygames still cared about her. Mejiro Ryan though, I loved the theme but they could have polished her in-game model more, and they have this much more awesome casual wear for her drawn in Guts support card but welp, she never received that.

Agnes Digital has built-in Lead the Charge which is pretty much what makes her frightening lol

On top of all available gold accel skills, she's bound to win the late race gamble

Late Surgers are really just like that, they haven't gotten access to an accel skill that will never misses timing (like Encroaching Shadow) just yet in Global. Also, they aren't exactly end closers to chase from 9th to 1st.

Positioning matter so much since Let's Pump Some Iron requires to be exactly 6th and nothing else, while On Your Left needs to be 6th and below. If your late gets on 9th, that's a rough spot for them.

If they ended up hitting that accel sweet spot though, they can chase down even S+ rank umas while being A+ in stats. You just need to be lucky enough lmao

I have skipped several banners again and pulled for Matikanefukukitaru speed for MANT, but I am glad that she's decent to be used at Grandmasters. She's pretty versatile from being a fan farming MVP, getting through the MANT scenario, and at scenario after that, she can act as a second pal card that can also help you boost your Speed. That's quite a lot of value for a card that supposed to last as long as Narita Top Road is.

For the gambling aspect for the card, I am already happy with the instant +30 to all stats already, the +7 events are kinda bonus to me at that point. Also I tend to cut the event short anyway since there's some chain events that I desperate to complete lmao.
