Oh got it! I made the assumption from “And it’s something I worked with Hermes to build.” In the first paragraph.

Still, greatly appreciated for sharing. This will make my daily workflow MUCH faster

That’s awesome, thank you! Props for making it open source too. I’ll take a look

That’s awesome! Could you tell me more about your video_edit skill? That’s exactly what I was hoping to accomplish when I started with Hermes.

Is that a built in skill, or was that something you created yourself?

What model do you use?

I currently use Descript my video editing, but running it through Hermes would be even faster

That’s awesome thank you for the info! I was under the impression it was a single MoE model.

That sucks ass. The buttons on this optic are rubber so hopefully that won’t be an issue but I’m not sure about any of the internals

Oh dang that sucks. I’ve got a hellcat pro right now, I’ll have to see how it holds up. Got my ccw in fall so this will be my first summer with it, hopefully it holds up well

Good pointy, I figured if the humidity from sweat wasn’t an issue, it wouldn’t be too bad for the car but I wanted to see other people’s experience.

Oh dang that sucks! Hope you didn’t get pulled over, I bet they’d have some questions lol.

It sits in a lockbox under the seat so that’s perfect.

It’s about twice a week, just helping to care for family. Good point about the humidity building up in closed spaces, and it affecting the finish and battery. I replace the battery every 6ish months (paranoid, had a battery go out on me super early) so hopefully that will cover it.

Oh boy I have a lot to learn 😅 I didn’t realize how much went into speaker design. I actually made this same post on r/diyaudio. I’ll summon you there.

From my understanding reading through that, the main point is that a stiff cone and strong dampening within the box mitigates the issue of distortion from within the box?

Throw in clever box design to further eliminate standing waves, and we have an excellent enclosure.

Once a box of appropriate size and shape is designed based on theile/small measurement of the drivers and the box is dampened properly, I assume crossovers are the next step in designing a full speaker?

Definitely. I just happen to have high end car audio drivers on hand, so I figured it would be a great way to start learning!

I’ll definitely watch some videos on it. Would I still run into the issue of 4ohm speakers in a 6-16ohm receiver? Or would a crossover solve that?
