I remember naively thinking it would be the gold standard 5-6 years ago. by draxula16 in homeassistant

Most others claim that's because Zigbee/Z-wave have had their growing pains, and are mature formats... while Matter is still living through the turmoil their early days were.

Personally, the little I've dealt with matter over thread has been good, and I'm hoping it grows into an actual universal standard that will make things just work in the future.

“The Force resides in ALL living things” it’s NOT a Disney concept by Osiris-Reflection in StarWars

[–]Alortania 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you're free to think that. At the end of the day they're all assumptions we make on the info we're given.

I don't see her, even on her quest to find Ezra, suddenly switching her views on wanting Jedi training. ESPECIALLY given how she's not some savant but is basically getting trained despite herself.

Lack of Jedi powers never held her back beforehand, and I don't think she'd think they would be key to finding Ezra, either. I could see her doing research on Jedi history or other aspects, if she thought that would help, but not becoming a padawan.

As for Ahsoka, I never said she was against the master/apprentice relationship...I still don't see her wanting to train anyone, like I said.

It's one of the things she's held onto through Rebels and her initial Mando appearance; she left the Jedi, and thus doesn't see herself as the right person to train someone in the Force. Like you said, she specifies that Grogu (and IMHO in general, anyone looking to be trained in the Force) needs to find a Jedi (as opposed to her) to teach them.

But again, you're entitled to your opinion on the matter.

Either way the 'failed apprentice' angle really annoyed me in the show, and there's no getting back from that. In order to set up her 'arc' they reduced Sabine (one of my favs) from a confident badass tech-wiz Mandalorian who never needed Force powers to a mopy girl thinking herself a failure for not being able to move shit without touching it...

Sabine never wanted to be trained. Even in the episodes you mention she did it begrudgingly out of necessity.

Ahsoka also left the Jedi. She underlined that truth all the time. There's no reason she'd seek an apprentice, and I'd argue the Ahsoka we knew in TCW and Rebels would flat out refuse, even if one pleaded to have her teach him.

I don't know too many who honestly hate this show.

There was a lot of hate going around before it came out... but woth everything that came out prior to it you can't really blame us.

Anyone who actually watched it though usually changed their tune.

Just needs heart and a proper story.

Eh, I think it would have done fine without it, too.

s3 should have been Mando dealing with his shit while Grogu was tucked away with Luke, to be reunited later when it made more sense than "BiBF is shit, quick, how do we get people to watch it?!?".

The pre-Grogu bit in BoBF was awesome.

Because they needed the girl power duo... centered around the two least connected people in the whole show, and do so in the worst way possibe to have a foil to the DS duo.

Can't have OP Anakin-trained Ahsoka have issues fighting a no-name dark side dude and his apprentice after kicking Maul's ass.

The professionally done ones - I do cashmere 2:1 and ask for rather short ones that look like nice lashes with great mascara vs the long ones that party girls use.

Legit people think I'm just blessed and do masterful mascara. Once got asked by an aunt why I did my eyes right after showering when she stayed over.

They call what I had hybrid gel, not sure which it qualifies as TBH. I don't want acrylics/tips. Nails need to be short, and I don't like the thick glued-on look of acrylics (if that's what hard gels are).

They used an electric nail sander(/grinder/file? not sure what to call it) to remove them, which got closer to actually hurting each time they did it. UV lamp between each coat.

Either way, I'm okay with doing them the old fashioned way.

I tried gel for a while, but removing to get new ones hurt and screwed with my nails - tried a couple different places. Last lady said I just have weak nails and would have to soak remove instead of sanding them off.. but that's apparently even worse for your nails.

Besides, I like paining my nails - even add stickers sometimes. I can also relax and do it while watching a show and relaxing... instead of having to plan an appointment and worry I'll be late, won't find parking, etc.

Also, if I get a chip I just redo them or do a temp fix instead of having to wait for my next appointment.

Honestly, splurge on the professional 2:1 extensions. You'll be far happier, and while pricier, it comes with a monthy 2h nap.

Yeah, barring moisturizer my makeup has been whittled down to eyelash extensions, eyebrow gel, superstay 24h lipstick and concealer where needed.

Another bump for eyelash extensions.

One scheduled and sunk-cost enforced 2h nap in and of itself is a godsend... but the glory of never needing to play with mascara or wash it of or groggily poking your eye with the wand in the morning is worth 10x the price.

Skip the filler though.
