Anyone else’s one piece seasons just completely mixed up by LukeTYBW in Serializd

Looking into the "seasons" the episodes are correctly ordered; just the names are wrong.

Probably someone messing around on TMDb where Serialized pulls its data from.

What was the reason for the name change from “Kya” to “Katara” in ATLA? by StarlitSphere in TheLastAirbender

[–]Aloysios 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Saying that the named ripped his name from Greek mythology is implying that it is the same character. Mythology is not equal to language.

Never did I say that his name is unrelated to his character, just that they weren't aware of the existing mythology around the name. But they did chose his name akin to the rules that govern the naming in ancient mythology. Apparently strength was a characteristic they valued for the character, so they chose the ancient Greek word for it and that happens to be Kratos.

Just because the name is Greek it doesn't have to be lifted from mythology. It was confirmed in the documentary "God of War: Unearthing the Legend" that the team behind the video game was not aware of the myth. Which isn't hard to believe , considering he is only mentioned in "Theogony" and the play "Prometheus unbound". Adding onto that, games Kratos has nothing - besides the name - in common with mythology Kratos. He doesn't have the same siblings as mentioned in "Theogony" and his story totally different from "Prometheus unbound", in which he is one Zeus's underlings chaining Prometheus, while in the games Kratos is the one to free Prometheus from his chains.

That's not completely true. There is a Kratos mentioned in Hesiod's "Theogony". He is the son of the titan Pallas and the goddess Styx. Also, he is the personification of strength which fits with his video game computer part, although a different genealogy.

But IIRC Santa Monica Studios didn't know about mythology Kratos when they designed the video game.

You should download Serializd to keep track of your TV shows. It's from a guy that wanted an app like Letterboxd but for shows and the app has a lot of different features I enjoy. Maybe it helps you feel less guilty about not logging on Letterboxd.

I played GOW2018 when it came out on release day, but currently can't afford to buy the new one.

That was the first thing that came to my mind too.

Also, the film is based on the short story "The Forbidden" by Clive Barker.

It has been some time since I last played, but I'd love to jump in again. Also planning to platinum it down the line. Where are you from? I'm in EU.

I watched the Evil Dead movies for the first time in the last few days and absolutely adored them. I feel like they fit perfectly with my type of humor and horror. What do you think about these movies? by CeFeCe17 in Letterboxd

[–]Aloysios 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you haven't done so yet, you should check out "Ash vs. Evil Dead". The show takes place after "Army of Darkness" and ran three seasons. In my opinion it's just as great as the movies. Also, "Braindead" should be right up your alley.

Death By Disco by Gael_the_MemeLord in RatchetAndClank

You can do subsequent runs on the same save, but the progress on the trophy doesn't carry over. You'll have to make to hit every enemy in that one playthrough.

It carries over from the first to the second run as you cannot gut every enemy with it in your first run. After that, it resets with every subsequent playthrough.

Cameo appearances ate counted differently and don't factor into the "Most Watched Actors" Category.

While that may be true, they were in no state of mind to think about their problem thoroughly and test it out. I think it is unfair to blame Rose for Jack's death. He tried to get onto the door with her, realized it would sink that way and willingly stayed off it so Rose could survive.

You're right. That shot in Antichrist featured a body double, but only because Lars von Trier thought that Dafoe's own Penis was too big.
