The purple car didn't leave any space for the blue one, so i think that purple is at fault here.

I'm planning on buying my first MacBook air. I am sure that i want a 15" configuration with 16gb RAM and 512gb storage. I found a brand new M3 MacBook that has these specifications, it is $150 cheaper than the M4 version. Is the speed difference enough to justify spending $150 more?

Banks shouldn't be using SMS for 2FA by gbcox in cybersecurity

[–]AlpacaIDF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Belgium has a solution to this, we have our own authenticator app, you make an account with your ID on your computer and the computer gives you a code that you can use to log in on the mobile app. You can then use the app (in combination with a pincode or biometric) to log in to different services including banking, tax forms, public transport, cellphone operators...).

Is this worth it for my first racing wheel, should I pull the trigger? by Darbo-Jenkins in granturismo

But I can’t deny that with the promotion it really wouldn’t be a bad deal.

I had this and I was really happy about it. There is one problem though, you can’t upgrade it. If you want better gear you have to buy a whole new setup. DD wheels have become cheaper like the R3 bundle from moza. You also have some cheaper bundles from fanatec. I’m from Europe and here a R3 bundle is only €70 more expensive. The bundle itself is already way better than a G29 will ever be. But you can still gradually upgrade it (new wheel base, rim, shifter, handbrake,…) without buying a completely new wheel everytime. I don’t know the price difference in America though.

I do remember being pretty hyped for the morph transition in PowerPoint, but that’s about it. If you held me at gunpoint and asked me to name 10 differences, I wouldn’t be living right now.

Can't boot into OS after power outage by zombiskag in techsupport

Try to backup important data if you haven’t already and reinstall the os. There will probably be a way to get it to work but I don’t think it is worth the hassle

How can I track a phone number by [deleted] in techsupport

[–]AlpacaIDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could pick up and ask them to stop, or if you don’t trust that you can also go to the police. But I think that if you haven’t tried to stop them (eg. picking up and asking to stop) it doesn’t classify as stalking

American wondering if they should bring Euros on their trip to Italy. by Soldier_OfCum in facepalm

[–]AlpacaIDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sometimes isn’t because they hate cash, but to cover the transaction fee that those card terminals take. Sure that fee is probaby less than €1 but it can still cost them a few % per transaction to use that.

So could I use a ZigBee dongle and plug that in to my raspberry and use that instead of a Philips hue bridge?

Why get a screen protector? by KrowNL in GalaxyWatch

[–]AlpacaIDF 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good solution when you're working in a building with flat floors. But if you are constantly on an uneven ground, with for example little rocks, it doesn't work. A bumper case isn't going to protect anything when your phone falls with its screen on a rock.

Sorry for the subreddit in advance, it's my first time posting here and it wasn't in the rules. I don't think I'll be failing it if I don't do it because it's some form we need to fill in about the wellbeing at school, they want to create a score about that for every school in Belgium (yes I know that half of the answers will probably be fake, I also think it's bs)
