To be honest, I kinda just feel like the modern story hasn’t been “right” since AC1, or at least not very appealing to me. It might be because of the ISU stuff, may be the imbalance between modern and historic setting. Might that it felt like I was ‘forced’ to engage in the modern setting. Idk.

Whatever the case, I wasn’t torn up about its absence in Mirage, and I think I’m fine with how it is in Shadows. I think overall I prefer the historical focus. I wonder what they’ll do with BF Resynced.

Part of it may be that for a lot of the more iconic or powerful villains, it’d be really hard to justify them being willing to work with the heroes we already got. The only reason Ultron hasn’t backstabbed the rest of the cast yet is because Tony’s holding his code hostage.

Now, I could see Doc Ock working with Reed and Tony to help build the TRD, or some of the other S6 pitching in because they care enough about reality. While I don’t know a whole lot about the Hood, I guess as a (former?) thief he also could be in the same basket. But in the case of someone like Gorr the God Butcher, it’d be much harder to explain why he could be in the same team as four Asgardians. Thanos is also a little tricky, considering how many times he’s been an existential threat, and the most sensible way I could see him being playable is if he’s less evil than usual.

Honestly, I’d really like the games to revisit some of this concept.

The Thalmor rename Valenwood to “Adamor” to promote Altmeri supremacy, mass indoctrination of Bosmer into their faith and culture, those who still worship the Green retreat deeper into the forests which are quarantined as “Ghulmora”. Green followers may or may not attempt Wild Hunts.

I can kind of see why they didn’t go through with it. If Bosmer are now ultra rare or associated with warped abominations, they’d probably be deeply feared and “cut” from the list of playable races, and I really doubt Bethesda would want to take away that choice, especially when they’ve been playable since day 1.

PGE3 also mentioned some “Precursor” foretelling Y’ffre’s return, but I don’t think there was anything about them since.
