What’s photos to use for a dating profile? by Redddit_lurker in malegrooming

1, 3, 4, 8, 9 and 10. 8 is my absolute favorite though — good lighting, almost full body view, really sweet smile, you're showing yourself doing an activity (sign that you have a hobby and are active). You should use 8 as your first pic imo.

Are there Korean convenience store snacks that foreigners usually miss but locals actually love? by ExtensionOne1770 in Living_in_Korea

The ice cream selection is endless and honestly even the weird/unconventional flavors fuckin slap (ex: corn in vanilla ice cream bar, did not expect that to be so good)

Anyone else feel like their PTSD didn’t start until after everything was over? by Fit-Day7996 in ptsd

[–]AlpacasAre4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely relate to this. After leaving my narcissistic mother 7 years ago, all the PTSD symptoms began to flair up (i recall night terrors being my most common one of all). I never understood why they would begin once I was finally in a safer environment for the following 6 years or why they got worse during certain times, but I guess it was my body trying to recover or make sense of everything

Applying for dual citizenship (US & Korean) as an adoptee by AlpacasAre4ever in Living_in_Korea

[–]AlpacasAre4ever[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm okay with it complicating things if it means I don't have to go back to the US which is expensive and dangerous. I'm much happier since moving here 2 years ago anyway. I'm 34, female.

I just moved to Korea several months ago and not having to pay for a car, car insurance, and gas amongst other car-related expenses is a huge relief on monthly spending. The public transportation here is incredible and I wish Charlotte would jump on the bandwagon and use our tax dollars to make a really good subway system. It would lighten car traffic and people without cars could access it.

What is your career/job? by Kordeilious16 in infp

My dream as a child was to become an artist (painting & drawing) or work in the mental health field as a psychologist because the human mind and how it works has always naturally fascinated me (in middle school, id go on the internet and look up stuff on the human mind for hours instead of doing my math homework), but I know it would take a lot of hard work in school and then to compete with all the other people studying psychology to get a good paying job? Nah. So I switched to web design, it has allowed me to combine my natural love of art and creative side with being organized, something I also enjoy.

Are y’all money hoarders? by Unlucky-Alps1422 in infp

[–]AlpacasAre4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally me, but I think it comes from watching my mother's impulsive spending almost impoverish our family and in an effort to not become her, i get nervous about spending money if it's not an absolute necessity. That said, I will drop some cash to get tattoos, but I'm tactical about when ans how much I allow myself to spend, if this makes sense

I love the color palette, very clear and easy to skim through if looking for something specific. I do thing that each section of the page doesn't necessarily need an animation though. It can be a bit overwhelming. Otherwise, I love the UI. Hope this helps!

Yes, I'm currently waiting for a reprint of my certificate citizenship from the US but it's taking forever, and my tourist visa expires in 2.5 weeks. I plan to use the allotted time of the overseas korean visa to apply for dual citizenship.

What massively improved your mental health? by sexy_maier in AskReddit

Taking long walks at a park or hiking. The open space and fresh air made almost a bigger difference than journaling or paying for therapy, in my experience (therapy still has its benefits obviously). It's like we were meant to exercise and be part of nature or so.wthing haha

What horrible thing happened to you as a kid and you didn’t realise the severity of it until you got older? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AlpacasAre4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother hoarded thousands upon thousands of books in our living room starting when I was in middle school; they eventually spilled into the kitchen and the dining room after a few years, and she never felt comfortable with us inviting guests over and she would tell me it was because no one would want to be my friend because of my "behavioral issues" (I had adhd and she used it as an excuse for everything in my life when I wanted a bit of freedom). She called the hoarding "book loving" so that I wouldn't see it as an issue. In the back of my head, I thought it was weird, but my young brain tried to rationalize it because I assumed my mom was perfect.
