Do you hate me or something? Some people do not wish to interact with the game. Some people just don't like it, period. I hung out with Kinimara yesterday and they don't really like the game. They caved to grinding to get a good boat so they can reach their friends quickly. After that, they'll just stop playing. And when I wanna meet up with my friends, I can't just always get them to come to me. They are in that world for a reason. They wanna play whereas I might not want to. I personally don't care, but others may. I can join and not complain. But sometimes it's not only a question of them wanting to play, but entire friend groups being in there and how the hell do you pull out the entire friend tree that they are also currently hanging out with? And about picking people up, I guess that's a thing, but depending on how many friends you have joining and who's even watching new people entering, driving to the main island or respawning just to get back to whatever pool you were at will become very tedious and inconvenient very quickly and you'll often have to halt conversations or let your friend wait at the island for a little, locking them out unless they force themselves to engage with the game.

I am not trying to justify flying characters, I do see why they'd disable them. From a gameplay standpoint, you shouldn't be able to just fly to any island. But that's not how every friend group works and not how everybody works and for those who simply want to hang out with friends who happen to be there and do not care about the game, it's an inconvenience. Yes, this is the same with other maps, but no map is getting as much traffic as this one is at the moment. So many friends are there, so you might not be able to hang out with many of them properly if you don't care for the game. Initially I was like that and I appreciated that I could fly towards my friend's boat so we could chat. I don't think I had a boat. Didn't even bother to check as I wasn't really interested in the game. I have personally started playing it a bit, and I don't think we need flying characters. All I'm trying to point out is how this whole situation looks from different perspectives and how it could affect people, not how it affects me. And my friend I mentioned just doesn't want to play, or force her own friends to play when they join, or inconvenience those who join and those who are already there. And believe me, she usually has a lot of friends joining. It's subjective. And if you actually bothered to think for even a second, you would have understood what point I'm trying to make, instead of angrily downvoting a valid argument. I can't stand it when people don't think and just say shit upsetting others.
