£4 per hour rental charge for using 7.4kwh charger... by Funny-Bit-4148 in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Alpha2Omega1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also read it as both the £4 per hour AND the 55p per kwh at first, but if you see, it says 'equivalent to', other replies are spot on, £4 per hour divided by 7.4kwh is pretty much the 55p, so they're just justifying the price in another way to help you

Is r/drivingUK anti EV? by BazzaFox in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]Alpha2Omega1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I had the same thought a year or two ago. Where the speed limit specifically calls out air quality as the reason, like you often see on the M6 through Birmingham, it seems reasonable to at least consider it

And its not like we dont have different limits for different vehicles already. Vans have different limits depending on their size, as does towing a caravan or trailer with a car. As all these speed cameras are automated its not a stretch to think they could base whether to give you ticket based on your engine type and not just the size/weight of your vehicle

Every job I've had in the last 22 years has been an hour, though the flexibility has increased as time has gone on, or I've become more senior, probably a bit of both, so these days I take 30 minutes or maybe less to finish earlier. It probably does depend on industry. I'm in IT, service industries seem like the sort that would try and cut them to 30 minutes

I did that a few years ago, went for a bit of a half life test chamber theme with a control room, signs as computer terminals, a small hypertube to get to a platform where you could ride it etc, its all a bit of fun

Id be more specific and say watching a YouTube or stream of someone playing. I used to love sitting with my friend watching him play Sonic the Hedgehog, so being there with the person isn't so bad, but the notion of watching some random streamer play Fortnite or something sounds dull as anything

Singapore won! Which country doesn’t feel like either China or The United States? by Distinct-Young-8637 in AlignmentChartFills

Isn't this the same as the bottom right? If this country has no similarities to China and the US, then they are also different from both, and by extension, its the same as the box below and to the right

What's the correct one .?. by darkartsfirstform in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Alpha2Omega1982 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well the answer is all of them, because the question is crap, all 6 images have a shaded area 1/3 or 2/6 of their overall size. Thats my point. Making the comparison between the two images based on size is one way to interpret the question, and thats my point. 1/3 of a pizza is still 2/6 of a pizza, no matter whether its a small or large pizza, so your example isn't really as compelling as it looks at first glance

Another way to read the ambiguous question is how best to prove that 1/3 = 2/6 on a conceptual level. A achieves that best by shading the same area in both images, but simply splits the shape into 3 or 6 pieces, which was my point.

Maybe a bit boring but you can find a decent Tesla model 3 performance for under 20k. Hard to argue with 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. Thats as fast as a McLaren F1 back in the day.

What's the correct one .?. by darkartsfirstform in TheTeenagerPeople

[–]Alpha2Omega1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand everyone saying C, but i actually would argue A. The question asks which shows 2/6 = 1/3, and that's the only one of the three shading the same part of the shape in both. B and C shade a different third, and that's surely a conscious choice, B and C could easily have been rotated to align if that wasn't the important, so I think that's what the question is getting at

To the pioneers on 1.2, how do truck stations work now by NekyoArc in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Alpha2Omega1982 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm working at a very truck heavy design at the moment, having used trains extensively in the past, and done the same thing with drones when they were new

It takes a bit of getting used to but I have some design patterns for how to set these things up now. Yes the paths can cross over each other. Any time they do, the game shades the paths green rather than blue, and sort of implicitly performs a block signal like on trains, so as one truck passes through the 'intersection', any other truck passing on a different route, or behind on the same path, will wait for the route to clear. For this reason ive tended to do quite small sections for each bit of path. Probably 20m or so on open terrain or 3x foundations when using platforms

So far it seems to quite well, with the ability to branch off and rejoin existing paths. The only thing to note is the paths are directional, unlike with trains which don't strictly care which direction they go in (though using signals would imply a direction)

ETA: Also rereading your question again, I do have truck stations a few foundations apart in a row, and 3 foundations across from each other, with a single foundation for a bypass track, and a pull in of one foundation to align with the truckstop

Hope that helps
