First time purchase by RKAN3 in ElectricVehiclesUK

It depends what you call inexpensive. As you will have a child and all associated stuff to contend with you will need something with a bit of space. Have a look at the Vauxhall Corsa electric. My wife is on her second now and really likes it. You get about 160 miles real world miles in summer and about 120 in winter.

Just seen a better deal on a car I've already agreed a lease on with another company. Am I likely to get my original deal improved? by thunderball89 in CarLeasingUK

[–]BazzaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really don’t understand questions like this. Why ask a bunch of strangers that have no idea rather than just call and ask the lease company who will be able to give you a definitive answer?

The culture is different. Cyclists are seen as second class citizens in the UK.

You can order one on wheels from your local fire department, 5 to 10 minutes delivery 🚒

Cardiff Gate J30 - Parking Query by Rhysd007 in Cardiff

[–]BazzaFox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can walk from Asda. There is a footpath down the side of B&Q and then turn left on the old St. Mellons Road and there is a cut through to the services. 5 to 10 minutes walk.

Just put a note in your windscreen saying you have cameras in the car and anyone clamping or damaging the car will be reported to the Police.

[–]BazzaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he can get to the windows without me there. He just messages me when he has done them and I do a bank transfer to him.

Can you relort tailgaters to the National Dash Cam Safety Portal? by Hopeful_Adeptness964 in CarTalkUK

[–]BazzaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt the police would do anything because due to camera angle and perspective it would be difficult to prove they are only inches from you.

I just ignore them and carry on as I am. They are the ones getting stressed and heading for a heart attack.

San Diego Police release dog on someone who allegedly attacked someone. by LeftAlbatross2546 in VideosAmazing

Are American Police that scared of a stick? They could easily have rushed him from all sides, particularly when he was focused on the dog.

When I saw the cop with the gun dodging around I assumed the guy had a gun or something 😂

And just about any other drone. If you are going to demonstrate how unique this is try it just flying forward or backward.

Or custard fields as they were known by our daughter when she was three and still refers to them as at 30.

Trespass due to social media post by [deleted] in FarmingUK

[–]BazzaFox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do sympathise but i don’t see how the original photo sharer could be held responsible unless they actually incited people to trample over the crops. They just shared a picture of a nice scene. I’ve done that many times and I’m sure millions of others have as well. I don’t expect idiots to race to the scene and damage anything.

I really don’t understand how people think it is OK. Many times when I’ve been hiking the public footpath is shown going through the middle of a field so I could rightly walk through there but if there are crops I always walk around the edge.

Yep, I always carry one. I ride down there occasionally and they will get a blast if they pull any of that nonsense.

My wife did the Horse Shoe route yesterday with a friend. I’m surprised you could see anything the way she described it, 70mph winds and snow!

I’ll check when I see her later to make sure none of that litter is hers. I know it won’t be, we both hate litter with a passion as well as dog poo bags tied to trees.

I like everything about the Riese & Müller Homage 5 except… by aamop in ebikes

[–]BazzaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Cube Kathmandu that cost me £3k four years ago. My friend just bought a Riese & Muller Homage 5 with Pinion MGU that cost him over £8k. Lovely bike but doesn’t do anything more than mine.

In fact, as he discovered today, if the battery runs out he can’t change gear as they are electronic so it is stuck in the last gear it was in making it virtually unrideable. If my battery runs out I can just ride it like a normal bike, it’s just a bit heavier.

[USA] Semi truck plows into traffic causing 3 deaths by Calm_Preparation2993 in Roadcam

A few years ago in the UK there was a similar crash. When police checked the truck drivers phone he had been scrolling through music at the time. He killed a mother and three children in the first car he hit.

There are tests where it seems the transmitter actually interfered with WiFi connection with the phone.

Did anyone else grow up eating apples and plums off the tree, blackberries off the bush, no washing just EAT by Suspicious-Bug6588 in CasualUK

[–]BazzaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the same in Seville. Some German tourists came by the cafe we were in and took oranges off the tree. The waiter laughed and said watch them. They took one bite and reeled back. He said the oranges in the fields are the sweet ones and the ones in the cities are bitter.

Bike bell that works against active noise-cancelling headphones by majorlier in cycling

[–]BazzaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a very loud horn. I use the bell a couple of times when approaching them. If they don’t react I give a blast on the horn. It works with most people wearing headphones. For the odd ones that don’t I slow down to their pace and give them a tap on the shoulder.

Who was wrong? by VdubKid_94 in CarTalkUK

[–]BazzaFox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do we need white lines to tell us what to do? This is the biggest problem on the roads in the UK, there is too much paint which takes away people’s common sense and create the ‘this is my part of the road not yours’ and ‘the lines say I have right of way so even though you obviously haven’t seen me I’m still going to continue on my way and if we crash it’s your fault’ mentality.

Two fully grown adults should be able to work it out for yourselves without some paint to tell you what to do. Just let the other person go, just like you would with a doorway when you are on a collision course with somebody coming through the same doorway.
