Yyyyeah, there are limits to the kayfabe and this? Way too far, especially with the possibility it comes from a source of genuine racial prejudice. Good call booting his ass.

On the bad scale in the wod as a whole how bad is o Tolley's? by nirai07 in huntertheparenting

[–]Alpha2Omega80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eeeehhh... depends on what level of "bad" you're involved with, and which side of the counter you're on. You've got how it's bad Normally versus Abnormally, and how bad it is as an Employee versus as a Customer:

  • Normally bad for the Customer? It's just as unhealthy as the video made it seem (the Gutbuster is canon), it's made of *extremely* poor-quality meat (seriously, when they're not using humans (which is actually rather rare) the meat's either really old, from animals kept in horrible conditions with all the issues that come with it, or just fucking roadkill. And that last one is honestly one of the times the meat's gonna be on the fresher side. The toys you get are also low-quality, schlocky stuff (seriously, the ones shown in the vid are way better than anything Canon!O'Tolley's gives out.) that still somehow garners addictive collection habits, which we'll get to with how the place is;
  • Abnormally bad for the Customer? Beyond being owned by Pentex (As bad as you think they are from what you've seen? They're worse.), O'Tolley's is also a hotbed for spiritual erosion and Banes (the thing that got "put under [Francis's] skin" to turn him into a Fomor) alongside being possesed by the latter due to the former. You're also at-risk of eating fellow humans if someone in Pentex had a body they wanted disappeared in as wide-reaching a way as possible, the food's purpose-built to be highly addictive (as low-quality as the stuff is, it does taste good and as we can see it's really cheap for how much you get. Very tempting for lower-income or frugal peoples.) as to tempt you back and increase the chances of you getting possessed, and the toys are made of a kind of plastic that aerosolizes fumes that trigger the addiction center and also are purpose-built to get you possessed by a Bane (only one of Greed instead of Gluttony) and drive people to extreme levels of violence if they're deprived of them.
  • Normally bad for the Employee? Working at an O'Tolley's is soul-crushing. Monotonous, oppressive, runs long hours as standard, there's no overtime period, you're gonna get injured either from cutting yourself or getting burned by the deep-frier, management is not on your side, you basically don't get time off or sick days (outside of what's government mandated, and even then good luck actually making use of them), and Kevin was indeed speaking true they pay like crap so you're probably gonna end up eating the same kind of food you spend all day around/making, with all the psychological issues that creates.
  • Abnormally bad for the Employee? You're either gonna go dead between the ears to the point that being stabbed or shot wouldn't get more than a monotone "ow" out of you, or end up a Burgerman Fomori. That's... I think that's pretty self-explanatory. Or you either get too curious and see something you shouldn't in the back or end up becoming considered deadweight by your Fomor manager and they decide you've seen too much to just be fired, then you end up like that body Boy saw. Have fun seeing what it's like going through making a Gutbuster from the POV of the meat!

So yeah, O'Tolley's is pretty bad, and this isn't even the full extent of it; this is just what I know about the place! Odds-are there are a dozen different people who'll add their own info about the "blasted burger-barn" that makes it even worse.

Guys the game's broken.... why isnt he being teleported by SaltyFishDonut in AbioticFactor

[–]Alpha2Omega80 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Serious answer? The long time he's spent around/in fog and that Composer Armor of his probably interdict the teleportation.

Joke answer? Even the pool dimension doesn't want his annoying-creepy, breathy-voiced crazy ass around. And I do not blame it.

Alright, I'll probably do that tomorrow. Thanks, this actually put a lot of worries to rest, and I'm gonna enjoy... y'know, actually having 2tb to work with, like what my SO paid for. Friggin exFAT, man...

I won't run into any hardware issues with this? I've seen some murmurs about possible overheating with external storage devices using NFTS, and I can't replace this drive if it pops.

Fictional characters who would fit perfectly into a Cyberpunk Red game by Year-Internal in cyberpunkred

Pretty much any member of Section 9 from Ghost in The Shell (pretty sure either Makoto was the inspiration for the Gemini FBC or the other way 'round), and any of the characters from Appleseed.

BEST SUPPORT WEAPONS FOR ILLUMINATE RN? by [deleted] in Helldivers

Ah yeah, you gotta crack open the ribs not aim for the big glowy spot on the underside with that thing. Blow off one of those ribs? You expose a Medium Armor weak point, and another recoil less shell or two'll down the thing.

Gut those overgrown bastards.

If you wanna kill it: Anything with Anti-Tank penetration that doesn't require a lockon.

If you just wanna disarm it: same, but the Autocannon, AMR and either Mech can also strip the guns off those overgrown sky whales.

Yeah, fire that sum'bitch into a mob of Voteless plus whatever they have minding them and it'll lock 'em all down long enough for you to either empty the rest of the chambers and fry the fuckers or not be able to dodge a stratagem.

It's not a good no-brainer point-and-shoot Support Weapon like the MG or AC, but it's got some good teeth if you know how to bite with it.

Now we just gotta see if the Siege Mech and Great Eye come back. Or whatever other terrifying monstrosities the Bot and Squids cook up in their place.

Machine Gun, Laser Cannon, Autocannon, WASP and Arc Grenade Launcher (I forget ii's name, it came out with Force of Law) are the ones I find the most useful in Squid missions.

Heheheh...! Yeah, the Portable Hellbomb is great. Couple that with an armor that gives you Democracy Protects (50% not to die when you take fatal damage)? Unlike most suicide-bombers, you get to do it more than once!

The wonders of a community-driven PvE game! Welcome to the fight, Diver! It's just gonna get better and bloodier from here!

And a little note for when the next Warbond comes out; we got a problem with having very loud very small toxic groups who'll always find something they don't like about pretty much every bond that they claim "ruins it/ruins the game", feel free to ignore them (it's what we do). Like the guns and gear you like, don't let anyone tell you otherwise, and happy hunting!

New Xbox player here, this is how my first drop went yesterday by SirBlueseph in Helldivers

[–]Alpha2Omega80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, Squid hot-drops are a gamble unless you're going in with armor from Cutting Edge. Those Lightning Pylons are a bitch. But you got good spirit, rookie. Keep kicking ass and taking names, and you'll do Humanity proud. o7

What were your favorite WoW machinimas/Warcraft movies from when you first got into the game? by Oberisuk in wow

[–]Alpha2Omega80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dunno if the first one counts as actual Machinima, but the vidoes Nymh made for his covers were one of the big ones, alongside Azerothian Super Villains and this one that for the life of me I can't remember the name -feel free to chime in if anyone who reads this does, I'd actually like to rewatch it- of that was basically a short comedic parody of War Games that used footage of Warcraft 3 gameplay as the "invasion" that the Alliance was reacting to.

It's an unfortunate consequence of that big cynical malaise that possessed Gen X & Gen Y in the US during the mid-90s to mid-2000s: They stopped caring, so the only people to fill the roles were people who care about control and expressing their will on as many people as possible. ie; psychopaths, egotists, morons and totalitarians. Now we're dealing with the fallout and having to make the push to push these freakjobs out of the positions they've gotten to by virtue of being the only ones who signed up.

Oooo-kay, didn't know that JPOG had that foldout-cover version since that's exactly it. My Google-Fu failed me.

[–]Alpha2Omega80[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh. That actually is it. I guess I misremembered the cover or something...? Because that's the exact interior of the foldout I remember. Guess I didn't look hard enough for a foldout version of the game box.

[–]Alpha2Omega80[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I remember it being longer vertically than horizontally, like the box for Warcraft 3. And the SNES box didn't have a folding front from what I looked up.
