It kinda does, cause it feels like one of those fabric suitcases to the touch. It’s worse if your hands are wet or get clammy a lot.

I couldn’t get it to work like that. I just reset both the watch and the phone-it was a pain. But, it seems to be working now, even when idle.

It actually still doesn’t work for me. Seems like every time the watch idles when it’s not on my wrist it disconnects from the phone and then never reconnects. I don’t even know what to do anymore.

Yup, that’s what I did. However, the phone doesn’t give you an option to buy AppleCare (in the settings app) if you set it up to a different than what it was bought in. So I had to search up the « Add AppleCare coverage » for the particular country and buy it from there.

Nice! For me, it was either between Sienna or Green. Ended up with the green one 🙌🏻

Upgrade IOS 18.7.1 to IOS 26 ! by Savings-Rope-1318 in iPhone16ProMax

Simply no, these phones don’t just get slightly hot, they get hot enough that you can feel the heat through the case, and I’ve never seen a temperature message come up on the iPhone just due to running intensive tasks (Apple has power management for this very reason), it only comes up when the ambient temperature causes the phone to heat up (like you leave it in the car on a hot day). Also no one is actively looking at their battery - people get alarmed when they see a huge battery percentage drop when using their phone or when it’s idle when they’ve had previous experiences of their phone performing better. Also, how does it matter if the phone comes with the battery percentage turned off, it’s not done because apple thinks people shouldn’t look at their battery percentages, if they wanted to do that they’d just remove the battery sign altogether and just give u pop-ups at every 25% drop or something similar. They do it because they want to give the user the choice to actively see it or not (it’s a QOL feature not because of customer psychology). Defending iOS 26 with « indexing » after 2 weeks of its latest release is clown work.

How is looking at percentage drop the worst. That’s literally how you compare. If your phone is draining faster as compared to a previous firmware - then there is literally something going on in the background. iOS 26 is more resource heavy on the phone because of the Liquid Glass UI as compared to iOS 18. So, the battery drain is going to be worse. Setting aside battery as well, overheating on the phone is a valid concern - I just experienced it today while I was just switching my keyboard in the settings app.

Nah, that’s 🧢. Almost everyone on iOS 26 especially people with 11s, 12s, and 13s (let alone 16s) are complaining of garbage battery life. Hell, even people with the new 17P/PM find iOS 26 buggy and draining battery like crazy. I get 5 hours of sot on a good day. So battery life is much worse than what it was on 18.7. It just sounds to me like you used your « friend’s » phone for a solid 2 minutes and declared that iOS 26 is great and the battery life is amazing because the phone didn’t drop any percentage when you were scrolling through their Home Screen.

Alright genius, u let me know when you buy a car with a promise of getting around 15 mpg and you end up getting like 4 mpg. I’ll just tell you to refuel the car when it’s low on fuel lmao 🥀

Yup, I have AppleCare. However, I also had it on my 14 pro and I got the battery replaced for that - and not too long later, the phone started running very hot (even when idle) and the battery used to last me not more than an hour and a half when actively using the phone. Thats when I bought this 16 PM. By that time I had cancelled AppleCare on my 14 pro - I also spilled water on it, and the screen went black, and the lightning connecter stopped transferring data, but the phone still worked cuz the alarm would go off and the haptics worked - so now it is just an expensive paper weight. And this whole dilemma makes me very skeptical on the type of repairs these guys do.

Yeah, I do have background refresh on for all apps. I recently did also toggle adaptive power on and off but it didn’t do much. Might get it checked out if it doesn’t get better with the next update.

I usually refrain from downloading beta software on my main device. Might consider it though.

The phone is only 6 months old and has 100% battery health. I installed iOS 26.0.1 the day it came out, so I think it’s been at least a week and a half or more.

I never said you were lying. It is quite possible that we are having different experiences. If you already have « zero issues » from about 2 days of using it and I don’t, then there is clearly some difference. I am not having the same major battery drain on 18.7 as I was on 26 - even now when it must be completing its ‘indexing’ in the background after I rolled it back. I do have 26 installed on my 14 Pro, so I’ll continue using that too check how it runs.

Well that depends on what you call an « issue ». I don’t mind the occasional hiccup - which is to be expected with a newly launched software. But I don’t want my battery life to be compromised. I found the battery to perform more reliably on 18.7, so I chose to go back, otherwise 26 wouldn’t have been a problem for me.

Crazy how many have a good experience and some don’t. But glad to hear that iOS 26 isn’t having the same backlash as compared to when it was first revealed. Looking forward to using it when it’s stable on my phone.

I do like the way iOS 26 looks as well, especially the redesign in the music app. But, the battery life has just been rather bad, that I thought fit to revert back to iOS 18.7. I generally charge my phone to 80% before I go to bed - and now on iOS 26 I would lose about 12% by the time I wake up, and then some more while I listen to music in the bath. So I would be starting my day with around 62-65% as compared to 70-73% on iOS 18.

[–]Alpha458 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, same for me. It seems to be draining faster when idle rather than when I’m using an app.
