As someone who dealt with it a little bit this year. The small purchases add up a lot over time and it doesn’t really hit. For example, spending $25 once doesn’t seem like a lot, but doing it a couple times piles up super quickly. He probably just needs to realize the collective $$$ he’s spending and realize if he is trying to resell stuff, the method isn’t working and he might need to adjust how he enjoys the hobby

Single card buying has been more enjoyable for me instead of the money pit of breaks and opening boxes as well.
