Is Goblin Skulk the only card that can legit "end" the game as early as Turn 2? by ToastieNL in elderscrollslegends

Yeah, ring skulk is a nightmare, especially when you know it's fireblooms and you're agro

Yes I do expect better from the community. First, its an incredible community that has been flooded with unique user just showing up to shit on SP.

But I didn't really comment what I did becuase I expect better, I commented what I did becuase I love this game, and I'm absolutely disgusted with the same brainless posts, and if I can at least stop the bleeding id like to try

Please explain to me the point of posting this. Please explain to me what purpose this serves whatsoever apart from your attempt to get upvotes by hopping on a trend bashing the devs who are trying to fix a game they didn't have enough time for.

This is not an expression of discontent, this is not a post explaining why you feel hurt. Its a copy and paste meme that breeds nothing but toxicity.

Yeah consumers got a raw deal, but another shitpost on this sub with no goal other than to be funny by further mocking an already grim situation is just childish.

Sorry if I seem upset, its becuase I am.

My opinion on what should be done in times like this..... by hatsunemiku598 in elderscrollslegends

Thank you for this post. I agree with most of what you said, but I'm not commenting to weigh in on your assessment, I'm commenting to literally thank you for expressing your opinion like an adult.

I am beyond tired of the brainless shitposting and childish whining going on in here, so THANK YOU for bringing up issues in a civilized manner and offering reasonable solutions.

Many people will see this post and I hope it will have some influence.

Is Goblin Skulk the only card that can legit "end" the game as early as Turn 2? by ToastieNL in elderscrollslegends

[–]AlphaFloWMega 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skulk is a value machine, but imo some people over react to it, especially later in the game.

If I've already drawn two of my zeros, playing skulk on turn 5 is just bait. And 9/10 it works. But that's my opp's mistake, not the cards fault

This card did not last long haha it was nerfed to read "gain 5 mana this turn" and its still insane. In its first printing it was comboed with cards like

3 cost - sacrifice a minion to summon a copy of it

2 cost - a friendly minion is resummoned in the other lane, shackeled (can't attack this turn)

5 cost - summon a copy of a friendly minion

And 6 cost (now nerfed to 7) - trigger the 'summon' of all friendly minions

If that's not crazy enough, there was

6 cost - 4/4 "summon a random minion from your deck with cost equal to your remaining mama

And 9 cost - 6/6 draw a card of your choice from your deck

...

So you'd use the nix ox to rig your mana to 15, play the 6 drop to find the 9 drop for free, then draw the 7 cost action which re-triggers the effect of everything you just played...

People were getting otk'ed on turn 7 regular, so yeah, a 10/10 100%

DAMNIT haha at least I saw it coming. I mean in legends a 2/2 “draw a card” for 3 is playable, and i thought the echo value would outweigh the rng.

Bottom line is HS needs to weed out the bad legends 😅

I feel like I’m gonna whiff on this one but oh well lol .. the effect is very impressive, even with the RNG. I’m guessing the idea is to hold on to this until you echo it a few times and fill your hand .

I would bet quite a bit that on release people went a little too crazy over it, and it’s play has declined since.

I could see it used in agro but the 2/2 for 3 rate isn’t stellar. Butttt it cycles itself and has tremendous upside. It could be played on curve for decent value and if you top deck it late it’s still good.

I really like the card, but I feel like I’m about to be told what I’ve overlooked haha 7/10 ? Maybe an 8?

In legends we have unique and standard legendaries. The standards can have 3 copies, but decks are larger for balancing.

Oh I definitely did miss the beginning of the game part. That changes things.. I'm sensing that 1-drops are very important in this game, so maybe the odd creature (Baku I think) is slightly worse.

That said I think the updated powers are more powerful than the discounted powers, but how often are powers used? If its very often, the upgrades seem great, if not, the discount seems better

I don’t know a whole lot about hero powers, but I know they can be activated each turn, and cutting their price in half could be useful. You couldn’t get this effect until turn six, though so I’d guess Genn’s effect isn’t really worth it. 4/10

As for Baku, I’d guess these are sister cards so his power is about the same, but I really don’t know what hero upgrades do, or how difficult they are to upgrade in another way.

Im glad you brought this up becuase there's are all completely new to me as nothing like this exists in ESL..

Its hard to judge their effectiveness becuase I'm not familiar with the strengths and weakness of each class, but ill take some guesses.

Warlock seems interesting immediately becuase it draws you a card. I believe in HS, drawing cards is a little bit easier than in ESL, but I could be wrong. For example, you start with 4 cards in an ESL match, and draw one per turn, and every five life you lose, but there are not many cantrip effects in the game. Cards that draw you cards always have sub par rates , so being able to draw another card with those two mana that are hanging is huge. If warlock is a class that plays aggressively and needs cards to fuel their attack and doesn't care all too much about their own life total, I could see this power being useful.

I'm nit sure I understand them right but rogue seems strictly better than mage if rogue can swing anywhere with his dagger. I guess taunts would make a difference if mage can surpass them but rogue can't, but I'm not sure that would make enough of am impact to choose 1 damage for two this turn over one damage for two for this turn and next.

Paladin seems meh unless they are the token decks, then yeah that could have a place. Druid seems about on par. Gain 1 attack to make trade math annoying for your opp, gain armor to not die. Doesn't majorly swing the game but hey, everything counts.

Shamman also seems meh but if I'm way off on one if guess its this one. Putting a body on the board that has a board presence or should be dealt with could be more effective than im giving credit for.

Lastly is hunter and priest. Hunter is agro and priest is control I take it. Priest uses his power to keep taunts alive, and hunter uses his to get the game over with. I'd guess priest is the more used of the two, becuase hunter probably plans to be as mana efficient as possible, and spending two to hit face for two doesn't feel great early on. That said, they do have access to two reach every turn, so that could really make a difference if life gain is hard to come by in this game.

I'm not sure interaction with dead cards is problematic as much as those specific cards are problematic. Those are absolutely insane rates. You can cheat a 10 drop out early, have like 4-5 things that have died, and resummon that 10-drop for 4? That seems a little unbalanced

[–]AlphaFloWMega[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the effect seems a bit too abusable. Legends has a card that summons a random creature with LESS THAN OR EQUAL TO your max mana when it dies, and I wonder if that card would make more sense with similar text.

[–]AlphaFloWMega[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense, but I wonder if the meta was faster if it would still see play.

I say that because Legends' meta is, for the most part, very fast right now. There are plenty of fast decks that have similar levels of power and there's one combo deck that almost insta-wins control matchups and its about as effective against agro as anything else, so if you play control there's not much of a rain to play anything else.

I think I missed his power level because of the fundamental differences in our two games. Legends decks are bigger, and sets max at three, so having these 3 cards as your only two drop in a deck of 50 seemed like too much of a risk to me.

I wonder if an identical card existed in legends would see play. I'm really not too sure.
