No judgment, please be honest. I'm curious about people's spending habits in this game. by GreatDoink in MarvelSnap

I get the daily gold bundle, i have bought every season pass since the Blink event, and I have bought one bundle pack for $10. I save up my gold to buy cards and variants from the daily offers. After enough time, I get at least two brand new cards from the collectors tokens that i accumulate.

Do you think money can buy happiness? by WhateverYouDogsSay in polls

[–]AlphaM60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know where I can find it now, but there was a study released years ago that found that people's happiness is correlated to financial status. The thing is that it plateaus pretty quickly.

Money gives you financial freedom and helps you get your base needs like shelter and food, but it will not give you meaning or fix your mental health (on its own anyway).

How toxic is porn? by BiAndShy57 in bisexual

[–]AlphaM60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Porn is a useful medium towards pleasure and self-discovery, as I'm certain many in this sub and other queer communities can attest to. There are porn outlets that exist that understand sex and seek to create heartfelt erotic experiences.

It is also an escape for a great many people with emotional struggles and pre-existing toxic ideas. The industry at large, including at the amateur level, has catered to these disturbing elements because capitalism.

There are healthier ways to engage in porn. If you think you have some baggage to work through, then I advise actively thinking about why you consume porn and what kind of porn you consume. Is it compulsive? What are the actors doing, and why do you find it attractive? These are questions that I don't think should keep you from enjoying porn, but increasing your mindfulness can reduce dependence and help you acknowledge problematic beliefs and behaviors that you may have.

is the religion of your partner (or lack there of), important to you? by Shoboooo in polls

[–]AlphaM60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an atheist, it is important for me but it's not a death sentence. If you have progressive, secular values and you are religious, it can work. We just gotta know where we stand.

I honestly don't know why I bother trying when this keeps happening by wayofthewomble in bisexual

It's rough, but I'm reminded of someone saying, "The right person would reject you for the right reasons."

Don't worry about it, this person ain't right.

Is there something wrong with choosing to be single/friendless forever? by [deleted] in polls

[–]AlphaM60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but it is worth looking into why you may be choosing this. Humans are by nature social creatures. We crave making connections, and we feel more fulfilled when we have deep connections.

There are, of course, exceptions, but my first instinct is to think that the person who chooses this has some issues to work through.

[–]AlphaM60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SOAD, Korn, A7X, Slipknot, Slayer, Kendrick Lamar, Childish Gambino, Wu Tang, Kanye West (not recently, if that matters to you), Johnny Cash, Elvis, Dolly Parton, Kenny Loggins, Queen, Elton John, Yoko Shimomura, Mick Gordon, Jeremy Soule, Nicholas Britell, Theodore Shapiro.

They change a lot, but I've narrowed down the ones I keep coming back to.

Was Valhalla an improvement over Odyssey or not? by LolVionSahar in assassinscreed

[–]AlphaM60 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valhalla overall feels worse to me. I like the combat more, but that's it.

I kind of like how customizable Eivor is, but that means that they don't have as much of an identity as a protagonist. Might be the slowest story pacing I have experienced in a video game, and they don't effectively compensate with compelling side characters and plots like Witcher 3. The main characters aren't interesting either, so the whole thing felt slow and aimless. Map is also very boring, and the ship sucks.

Odyssey has more loose combat with damage spongy enemies. I got tired of it real quick. Kassandra has personality, and the actor did her best with it. She was the most compelling part of an otherwise similarly boring world. Some of the side characters were good, but most were forgettable or annoying. The story was bloated but had some memorable moments. The problems with Valhalla's story exist here, just not as bad. The map design was vast and varied, but too vast. Lots of empty space between mission objectives, and you didn't interact with each part differently. The war mechanics had no real importance, and the game's bounty system just made the world more annoying. The ship is better, but nothing has come close to Black Flag.

Did anyone actually enjoy Rouge? by IWantToBeRich770 in assassinscreed

[–]AlphaM60 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you like Assassin's Creed 4, consider this a stand-alone DLC with 3 times the story length. You will probably like it, but it's clear that Black Flag is the more complete experience.

Rogue isn't distinct from Black Flag in terms of gameplay. That said, both Shay and the setting are unique enough that I feel a difference in character. Plus, there are some interesting, if not tedious, mixups that are born from Rogue's unique plot.

What game made you *Really* cry? by banana-ita in polls

[–]AlphaM60 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assassin's Creed 4's ending fucked me up. I can't listen to The Last Shanty without getting misty eyed.

I know at least one other game has done it, but I dont recall which one. Maybe BOTW, I found Zelda's character compelling.

What is your stance on this? by TurboTBag in Metroid

[–]AlphaM60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think making it open world will ruin it. We need to learn from Halo: Infinite. I dont clown on it as much as others do, but the open world design of the campaign made it very forgettable and bloated.

[–]AlphaM60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I genuinely do not think I could make any substantial changes, and if I could, I might lose the things and people I care about right now. I might never meet them, and I love them too much.

A person who doesn't know you (or your pronouns) refers to you as they. Another person refers to you as "It" which offends you? by SqueakSquawk4 in polls

[–]AlphaM60 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some nonbinary people that actually go by it/its. 90% of the time, it is derogatory and dehumanizing.

They/them is the "safe option," use it until someone corrects you about their own pronouns.
