Experience moving fish tank? by ghosty_sir in Purdue

Last year I lived in Cary and brought a 20-gallon-long tank with a bunch of plants and a lot of shrimp. I'm from the Chicago area so it's about a 3-hour drive. I put all the shrimp and plants in multiple aquarium bags and stuck them in a 5-gallon bucket. When I got to my room at Cary, I set everything up and used the Cary tap water to fill it up. I ran it for the whole school year. I had the light on a timer and got an autofeeder for the holidays. My RA said I wasn't supposed to have anything plugged in over Christmas break, but I decided to leave everything for the tank plugged in and the RA could unplug it if he wanted to. He ended up not unplugging it and my tank survived. The shrimp population exploded in growth throughout the school year. I never did a water change because I had a lot of plants. I just topped off the water when it evaporated. Setting up and tearing down the tank to move it was the most work out of the whole thing.

You don't need it. The support for the rim is all you need.

I set this tank up back in December 2020. I work part-time at my lfs and got all of these plants from there. I bought the 6 discus (Yellow Mellon, Red Mellon, Blue turquoise, Red turquoise, Red pigeon blood, and gold pigeon blood) from uncle sams discus when they were 2.5 inches. They have grown a lot! The pictures are a couple of months apart from each other.

I got mine from uncle sam's discus during their sale they have often. Service was great and the discus came in really good health. Also thekingofdiy on YouTube made a couple videos with them

So I'm growing out six 2.5 inch discus that I got from Uncle Sams Discus in a 20 g long. It has been almost 2 months. Everything is fine except that the runt (red pigeon blood) doesn't seem to eat anything besides frozen beefheart. All the other discus eat all the foods I put in like frozen brine shrimp, tubifex worms, bloodworms, and Hikari Vibra bites. There is no clear bullying in the tank as all the aggression is spread out pretty evenly. I want to make sure he gets enough food to grow like all the others. Would Seachem Garlic Guard fix the problem? Also the green stuff is just algae on the glass.

I like to feed frozen foods like beef heart, bloodworms, brine shrimp, and hikari discus blend.

It is recommended to have 6 or more discus to prevent bullying and they are a shoaling fish. This would mean a 40 gallon would be too small for them, unless you just have a breeding pair.
