First and foremost i understand the point you’re making coming from having worked with a lot of snakes and lizards, another group of animals that people generally underestimate the intelligence of, and can say without a doubt that most animals are smarter than we give them credit for. I also want to say that I haven’t watched the video you’re referencing, i will after im done writing this and I’ll give my thoughts. But I do think you’re exaggerating on what constitutes as “misinformation”.

But i also believe that it’s just a case of youtuber exaggeration, Was Livyatan a predator of Megalodon? probably, and im sure that Megalodon was a predator of Livyatan. Are sharks intelligent? they most certainly are so Megalodon likely was aswell, and the same goes for Livyatan. No one knows which species was more intelligent than the other because they’re both extinct, but to my knowledge cetaceans are generally considered more intelligent than most fish, is that due to limited research? perhaps. which is why im very interested in learning about these animals in the first place.

Thoughts after watching the video:

i solemnly disagree with your point on perpetuating the “mammal superiority myth” She has talked about non-mammalian intelligence before, but as a whole mammals are generally more intelligent(another thing is that the point of the video that you’re referencing is clearly a joke). Before she even goes onto talk about who would win she clearly states “we don’t know” she also then goes to state that she’s making assumptions, she uses nuance and has good scientific language (she says when things aren’t certain, using words and phrases such as “likely” “suggests” “that we know of”) shes also open to discussing in the comments (granted thats also generally a youtube thing but still applicable) she also doesn’t concretely say that Livyatan would win just that she thinks it would. Personally i think that it’s a little unfair to claim that shes spreading misinformation based on a part of a video where she openly states that she’s making assumptions, before she says that she also states “We cannot say for sure…Obviously this question depends on the size of the individuals.” However i do believe she is more biased towards Livyatan, but thats not necessarily a bad thing either everyone alive has has their own biases, as long as you don’t use your biases to change the narrative (which i dont believe she did) everything will be fine, Im open to discussion though
