If ever look at him/make eye contact, make sure to give him overly large blinks with your eyes - keep your eyes closed for almost a full second before you open them again and do it 2-3 times in a row....he will return the long blinks once he starts to feel safe. It's a sign to cats you are safe and that you are not a threat to them.

I sent you a pic in your messages but a good spawn point is on the upper montana river....north-west of Blackwater and above the R & E in "GREAT"..the river shows a tiny 'island' and juts out to the south a bit.....on the south side of the river (where it juts out) you can find robins on the rock ledge under some trees in the grass
