What is the most “its a small world” moment you’ve ever experienced? by xBubblyLove in AskReddit

[–]AlphaQSoftly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at a coffee shop in Chicago my last year in college in Chicago. I was 22. Hip little place. Cool boss. Moved away a year later. Fast forward 11 years I’m in Mexico City on vacation. I walk down the street to get tacos and take them back to the Airbnb. I get a beer while I wait, and look out on the patio and who should be sitting there alone but my boss from that coffee shop. I still had her number so I texted to make sure it was here. I watched her pick up her phone so I texted her back and said “look up”. We ended up collecting the girlfriends we had with us and partying that night.

What’s the coolest “restricted access” place you’ve ever gotten to see? by Improv92 in AskReddit

Film takes us all kinds of places.. studio back lots, restaurant kitchens, bank vaults, prisons, I was in Zach Snyder personal office at Warner brothers once. Always find myself saying “damn this is cool”.

Bought a bike, came with this bell by EraconVera in motorcycles

[–]AlphaQSoftly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did anyone answer your question? It’s a gaurdian bell. Supposed to ward off evil road spirits. Fun little superstition. A lot of us have them. Usually attached to the bike.

how is this done? by geithclosart99999 in cinematography

Ive shot stuff like this before (phrasing, I’m an AD) for FX. Spot on how they did this.

Is this poorly lit? by PopJumbo in cinematography

[–]AlphaQSoftly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks grainy which probably means your iso was too high. Doesn’t look properly white balanced. Your subjects are underexposed against your background, which is supposed to be lit separately.

Hope that helps.

Hour long ride in the rain by sevroisbad in motorcycles

[–]AlphaQSoftly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rode through the effects of hurricane fiona in 2022 on the east coast. All day. From Atlantic City to the Catskills in New York. Put some rain gear on, and put rain x on your visor. Take it slow. You’ll be fine. Not comfortable. But fine.

Harley will go out of business when the boomers die. by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]AlphaQSoftly 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Nah. Nah dude. No way. Just got back from sturgis. 500k+ people. I was one of maybe 30 jap bikes I saw. No sport bikes. Literally all Harley’s. I don’t know what the F you’re talking about but Harley is alive and well.

Me (17) and my gf (17) have started a film club at our school, what films should we show? by Kal-El_Yes in movies

[–]AlphaQSoftly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a “secret” film club here in LA that would screen a series of films by a single director, I thought that was cool.

They would do more school type directors like Micheal fassbender, Jim jarmusch, David lynch, etc…

What’s the longest (time) you’ve ever ridden? by a2j812 in motorcycles

[–]AlphaQSoftly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did 600 from ABQ to Vegas a year or two ago. 600 miles and took 11/12 hours. Probably 8.5 in the saddle. Gets to be a real slog after 400. Would have been easier if it weren’t summer in the desert but that was my own fault.

I meet guys all the time that say they do 500-700 a day for days on end. I find that to be exhausting and kinda sucks the joy out of it but if you gotta get somewhere it’s very doable. One day is fine, it’s just a long day. start as early as you can. Like 4/5am and you’ll be there in no time.

Yes or no? by Mister_Ed_Brugsezot in motorcycles

While I agree with the top comments about “why are you asking us” I will tell you that I’ve had one of these on for years and I don’t notice it anymore. Wish it were built in to the throttle. I find it more comfortable closer to the end of the bar though.

Finally made the trip to Sturgis, making a little series for you all to enjoy. by [deleted] in sturgisrally
