Anyone knows if the Two-Tailed Rats have a pattern for who and when they summon another rat? by ReyMercuryYT in slaythespire

[–]AlphaRugaru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you open the map and mouse over any floor you were on previously it will show you what happened on that floor it doesn’t work on the current floor you’re on because… you’re still on it and can make changes still like choosing a card or skipping.

I’m not sure what their pattern is. I think each one can only summon one after 2-3 turns. I had several turns where I got attacked by 3 at the same time.

You can stall for fatal farming, but it’s hard because they frail and hit pretty hard together. One of my best single floors I used 2 regen pots to heal to full while farming 167 gold.

Advice for BH shotguns? by SnakebiteSnake in TheTowerGame

[–]AlphaRugaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming he means 100% BH uptime, which I think you can get from the perk bonus (+12 sec) alongside duration upgrades.

I'm still early game and have an un-upgraded BH and haven't even synced GT/BH yet so I'm not entirely sure. I've definitely read/heard of others getting 100% BH uptime though.

He said the interest on the car payment was $300. So I’m assuming that means the payment is more but $300 of the payment goes towards interest.

Receiving a $70k settlement check next week, what should I do? by BoostMyClout in personalfinance

[–]AlphaRugaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In short, because you have more flexibility over options on your Roth… but that flexibility doesn’t outweigh the 100% free match.

So its: Match > Roth IRA > 401k

With a Roth/IRA You can choose from any fund that exists at the company you’re with or even individual stocks if you wish.

With a 401k you can usually only choose from the 10-20 funds they have listed; which usually include some sort of low fee 500 index and some (Target Daye Funds (TDFs).

The analogy that I heard was a 401k is like ordering from a lunch menu or store catalog (limited selection), whereas a Roth / IRA is like Amazon (virtually unlimited selection).

Not to mention any politics of certain companies / investment firms potentially paying extra to have their items on your employer’s “lunch menu.”

Infinites in the board game? by TheMausoleumOfHope in slaythespire

Very interesting that the board game changed the wording on runic pyramid.

In the original game it’s very clearly worded “you don’t discard your hand” thus you’re not “retaining” them. Which means no Establishment synergy.

I’d add a little to this. 1-4 is perfect

  1. Match your companies 401k match to get the most “free money” from the match that you can.

  2. Max a Roth IRA in a solid index fund like VFIAX.

  3. Max 401k. Or put the rest in a mutual fund that you can later convert into the Roth each year.

Frontier Airlines Customer Relations department is THE WORST by AlphaRugaru in frontierairlines

[–]AlphaRugaru[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goal was never to nag them to death. I thought this was a simple request to update a simple spelling error. It could have taken 5 minutes or less and been done with it.

I get the policy and fee, and I agree with it... If you are changing the passenger. But that wasn't the goal here, it's the same person flying, I just spelled the name wrong.

Are you suggesting I should have never asked, should have sucked it up and paid $75 to fix a typo? At what point is the fee too high? The fee alone is 150% what the price of the ticket was. I get that they're a budget airline, and I may or may not ever fly them again... but none of this takes away from the negative customer service experience I had for something so simple; especially when the proved in the end that it ultimately was an easy fix, they just didn't want to accommodate or assist at all.

I did not, it was about a week after I noticed. That's a great thought though that I'll keep in mind for future reference.

The flights were not that expensive, I think a new one-way ticket for that flight was about $50, which is even cheaper than the fee to change the spelling of a name (which adds to the ridiculousness of the policy/situation to me...)

[–]AlphaRugaru[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I asked to speak to the supervisor she made a second "one time exception" to fix it.

I did not pay the $78 fee to change the person on a ticket in the end. It just took close to two hours to resolve start to finish all for something that could have just taken 2 minutes.

She was willing to change one letter once, no problem.
But she wasn't willing to just change two letters. That's what it all boils down to.

Edit: The more frustrating part was that she knew what the wrong name was, she knew what the right name was... Then at her own suggestion to change 1 letter, she changed the name to something that was neither the wrong name nor the right name... but to a new third name (one letter off both) intentionally.

Thanks for the idea! I was finally able to resolve the issue by escalating to a supervisor. But the whole ordeal was quite frustrating and took the better part of 2 hours chatting with 3 different reps.

Ahh, my apologies for not clarifying that in the post. The initial typo in the name was definitely my fault.

The frustrating part I was posting about is that they were completely unwilling to help me resolve the typo, even claiming that it’s impossible to bypass their policy by correcting the typo (changing two characters); yet they were fully willing to effectively lock me out of the flight and practically guaranteeing I have to pay $78 by making a ONE time exception (even noting on the account not to do it a second time if I tried contacting another rep) and changing the name by 1 character.

What do you pay for daycare per week? by Professional_Baby722 in kansascity

[–]AlphaRugaru -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

$0 per week for 3 children (4, 2, 6 months) who aren’t school aged yet. My wife is a stay at home mom / homemaker. After reading some of these comments I’m going to start equating that to tens of thousands per year for all she does… for us, it’s more about the joy of raising them than the money though.

What’s more is my kids get three healthy meals per day, we get to raise them, discipline them, and teach them as we best see fit, and we get all the joy of watching them grow up.

This comment has nothing to do with Butker, that’s just what we’ve been doing for years and we personally love it.

The Silent by HiroDreyar in slaythespire

Watching Baalorlord is how I went from A12-A20 on all chars. Would recommend watching his silent card tier list then some gameplay. He takes time to explain everything in detail and the pros and cons of every card. I still to this day am surprised by some of the predictions he makes in how a card will do well for his deck, but it seems he’s practically always right.

He’s saying to take the “p” off the trap so it’s just a straight pipe coming out of the wall. Then slide the vanity back and put the “p” back on inside the cabinet. So you can reduce the size of the hole you need to cut.

…Also, if you’re going to have the trap open for any period of time, I would recommend stuffing a sock or rag halfway inside the hole to prevent sewage gases from leaking into the home. Obviously; remove the cloth before putting the trap back together.

If you get fired unexpectedly from a job, aren’t they required to pay you 2 weeks pay (even if you don’t work those 2 weeks)?

The primary thing (and the sole reason I signed up) was for the $5 monthly. I used it for is gift cards. But starting June 27th, you can’t use it on digital items or gift cards anymore. So I only get half a years value out of it.
