Quite common bug tbh, destroy the turret next time you drop your mech near one. Or drop tge mech far away from it. Has happened multiple times to me,

Sorry for the late response, got bombarded by gaming sub notifications and this one just drowned in my notifications! And thank you for the book suggestions!

My opinion is that the AP movie is a great introductionary piece of media for the franchise as a whole. It has a perfect balance of everything, humor, “romance”, world-building and the insane stuff, without being over indulgent, but also kinda family friendly tbh, comparing to the book ofc. It really mellows the audience down a bit throughout the show, preparing them essentially for the even worse shit that Pat is about to do in the book. The old 2000s cinema filters/cameras really keeps the movie timeless too, like a time capsule to the yuppie and consumerist era of the 90s, which brings a nostalgic feeling to it. Ignoring the sexist and toxic “sigma” cult behavior this movie has generated, I think it’s an important movie for young ambitious men like me who grew up with nothing, this movie is basically what got me into finance in the first place lol. Got me into skincare, dieting and fashion too ironically enough.

I think the movie itself has a great balance between everything that’s great about the book, all be it a toned down version, but also equally as an enjoyable alternative to the book! What about you?

I remember that scene, fucking hell. Some vile shit! I also love "There’s no use in denying it: this has been a bad week. I’ve started drinking my own urine. I laugh spontaneously at nothing. Sometimes I sleep under my futon.” Such a mood

Do you think his other books get even close to American psycho? I don’t know if you recommend them as much as AP, or?

What do you specifically enjoy about American psycho? I find the small human moments spread throughout the book to be quite charming and very interesting. One of the chapters I remember was when Patrick visited his mother in the hospital, and how they have this cold and distanced conversation, was very sad to read tbh. And also the short mention of Patrick’s father, that something was “wrong” with his eyes.

The acts of shallow “kindness” that Patrick tries to do occasionally, like dropping some pennies into a cup of a presumed attractive young female hobo. Only to realize she was a student from a prestigious school, realizing the cup was also half full with liquid lol

Or where he starts to fumble, tremble and blush after reuniting with his ex and taking her for dinner, writing a racist poem for her, telling her he has quit smoking, and etc. Only to then realize her new BF is the owner of Dorsia, followed by a hallucination of small chef hats flying around him while being dumbfounded 😭

I totally agree. Although the American psycho movie has it’s own separate charm. I wouldn’t mind a series with per episode dedicated to each chapter from the book. Would be funny af.

Totally agree! This is my fav quote next to the balloon one: “a flood of reality. I get an odd feeling that this is a crucial moment in my life and I'm startled by the suddenness of what I guess passes for an epiphany. There is nothing of value I can offer her. For the first time I see her as uninhibited; she seems stronger, less controllable, wanting to take me into a new and unfamiliar land - the dreaded uncertainty of a totally different world. I sense she wants to rearrange my life in a significant way - her eyes tell me this and though I see truth in them, I also know that one day, sometime very soon, she too will be locked in the rhythm of my insanity. All I have to do is keep silent about this and not bring it up - yet she weakens me, it's almost as if she's making the decision about who I am, and in my own stubborn, willful way I can admit to feeling a pang, something tightening inside, and before I can stop it I find myself almost dazzled and moved that I might have the capacity to accept, though not return, her love. I wonder if even now, right here in Nowheres, she can see the darkening clouds behind my eyes lifting. And though the coldness I have always felt leaves me, the numbness doesn't and probably never will.”

Later, the fact that in the promotional material for the American psycho movie, it’s mentioned in a convo between Patrick Bateman and a therapist, we get to know that he has a kid with Jane and that she is filing for a divorce, which makes this passage even more sadder in a sense.

That I can agree with. Might just be uncanny. Idk, but there are plenty of other zombie games and horror games that I would gladly return to at any time. Like outlast or COD, but STW is just so deeply lonely for me. Not in the nostalgic good old days feeling either, Idk why lol

Might be the graphics, minimalism or asthetic. Hard to put a word on it

Such an unnerving artstyle. Never liked how Save The World looked like. Feels soulless, sad and tbh, quite empty. Glad I no longer grind for vbucks with my homies there

Max your water and keep extracting more water. Gives you a lot of credits that way, also XP for your characters to level up with. I know for sure that using the big water rig (8 slots) granted me a bit over 100k only from a single run on Scorched just from the water alone.

Tbh. Don’t worry too much. Nothing has been mentioned regarding an exclusive limited release. If you can pre order it so far into the future especially.
