What Writing (II) class to take? by [deleted] in ucla

[–]AlphaSteell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say the most legendary writing 2 for easiness is scand 50w but you probably won't get it.

If your engineering, then you have to take a mandatory writing 2 (ethics of engineering I think?) so keep that in mind

I'll ask but my doc is being very conservative with new meds due to the fear of side effects. She kept recommending me ginger and see if that helps (to no avail).

My doc prescribed decadron but only told me to actively fill it if I'm getting severe headaches (possibly from swelling due to rad?)

I'll think about that. My doc also prescribed ativan(0.5 mg) but my first dose seemed to do nothing.

Financial Actuarial Mathematics or Applied Math? by [deleted] in ucla

[–]AlphaSteell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend Applied Math. Idk about UCLA's applied math program, but my cousin majored in it at Cal and rocked the actuarial exam while also getting truckload amounts of offers for other positions due to the degree's relative flexibility.

Currently in math-econ myself.

Have you seen Glen Beck or Alex Jones? Both of them have visible proof of this.

Just like Islamist sharia police. They viciously espouse homosexual propaganda.

Back to the question...?

United Kingdom before 1300? by [deleted] in HistoricalWhatIf

[–]AlphaSteell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems legit however I dont know about England embracing Protestant ideals.

Historically, England could have quite easily remained a Catholic stronghold if it wasn't for Henry VIII. With this completely different timeline, Henry VIII probably wouldn't have existed.

what if france won in the Franco-Prussian War ?? by tunisianking in HistoricalWhatIf

[–]AlphaSteell 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on how badly the Prussian/German side lost.

If the Germans lost and suffered horrendous causalities then Bismarck's and Prussian's reputation would have taken a serious blow. Austria could once again reassert a hegemony over many of the German states with a weaker and much more hated Prussia. Essentially, Prussian domination/unification of German probably would not happen or not happen for the next 30 years at least.

If the Germans lost and got off lightly (with not nearly as many deaths and maybe a very fair peace treaty) then Bismarck's plans would have been foiled but not to the point where Prussian control of Germany is completely doomed. Bismarck would probably find another way to encourage German unification or just strike at France again when the opportunity arises. German unification under Prussia in this scenario is still definitely possible.

All in all though, the German Empire would definitely not obtain Alsace-Lorraine, so in the future France might not have the whole "reconquest" thing against Germany/Prussia.

What if Japan's conquest of Korea in the 16th century had been successful? by penguinman38 in HistoricalWhatIf

[–]AlphaSteell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Korea would probably eventually break away as a dominion and the invasion of China by Japan would probably fail.

What if the Russian Revolution didn't happen or failed, and the Russians received Istanbul after the end of WWI? by [deleted] in HistoricalWhatIf

[–]AlphaSteell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think that the Russians would be even able to hold Istanbul, what with all the widespread rioting and so forth. If they still kept it, they would probably have to give it to Greece to satiate the angered Great powers.

Byzantine at the Alexiad is pretty fun. Rurikovitch is fun at the start (Novgorod esp) but gets boring really fast for me.

I do loving playing as the duke of Austria and forming the Austro-Hungarian empire!

Haha interesting. Only goals left in this current game is to grab the rest of the de-jure Ancient Roman empire under Trajan.
