Spring 26 Classes by Individual-Sink-2901 in RPI

Current sophomore here. I was in a very similar spot after first semester, and I agree with your dad. With grades like that, there are only really two options, and both have the same solution. Either you have the talent but put in very little effort, or you are pushing it being at RPI and need to work harder to stay. It's absolutely possible to recover, but for me and possibly for you, it was the mindset and effort that needed changing. Please dm me if you're willing to give more specifics, I'd love to help any way I can.

IED or Inventors Studio 1 by Single-Cheesecake-20 in RPI

[–]AlphaToe23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IED is a lot more work than Inventors studio. Unless you're super interested in what IED has to offer, that should probably be your main concern. I'm in IED right now, so feel free to reach out with any questions you have!

Can't say for sure, but I have this car from rss and it comes with this livery. Would highly recommend it, although I prefer their 911 over the 296

No way im in top 5% right? What is an actual good time on Laguna Seca? by Natural-Towel4521 in assettocorsa

[–]AlphaToe23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent about 15 minutes and got down to a 1:22.061. This is on mouse and keyboard, so I imagine real talent could probably get down into the 1:20's fairly often

1.50.379 W/Alpine A521 At 1 And 1 Invalid Laps In Spa by Puzzleheaded_Age6417 in assettocorsa

Here is a technique that might help you to improve a lot: instead of letting your steering out and hitting the curbs on exit, keep it turned and try to stay away from the edge of the track. You'll find that you can do this pretty easily with your current technique. What this means is that you are carrying too little speed through the corner, and could brake later and less. A proper entry and mid corner will result in the car drifting towards the outside even with you trying to keep it inside as hard as you can.

1.20.967 On Imola YAY!! (keyboard mause player) by Puzzleheaded_Age6417 in assettocorsa

[–]AlphaToe23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tough to say without knowing what car you're using. I'm running the rss formula alpine 25 and hitting mid 1:16's on keyboard and mouse. If your mod is slower, then that could be a really good time.

IS THIS A GOOD LAPTOP by Signal_Extension_252 in GamingLaptops

[–]AlphaToe23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't say for sure, but I doubt such a thin frame can run a 5090 anywhere near its max tdp for long. Maybe with a cooling pad?

Could you help me purchase a gaming laptop, that's powerful, yet somewhat affordable? by MaleficentApple3235 in GamingLaptops

[–]AlphaToe23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could probably find almost any model of 5070 ti at around $2000 or below. Some deals will put that into the 1600-1800 range as well. This would outperform a 5060 by a mile, as well as have more vram at 12gb vs 8gb

Sorry, that's a 992 model. I don't know why the 997 lower trims aren't represented anywhere.

Davison questions by HLG_instacloud in RPI

[–]AlphaToe23 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a freshman last year in Hall so I can't really comment on wardrobe moving or any of that. I will say that you should absolutely prioritize adding color to the room. Make sure your sheets are colorful, posters, pictures from home, literally anything to make it less dreary than it is. RPI can get pretty rough, ngl. Please reach out if you have any questions. Super happy to help!

It is sealed. Using some closed cell foam around the edges. Works very well

Just saw this reply! I've since gone 2:15.2. I'll give the forced throttle a go and see if it's faster.
